Howling with laughter reading the article! Wow, mumsnet really touched a nerve, no?

Bless her

Daisy, you need to forgive yourself for the whole Clare Verity thing. Who would have thought to check her CV before letting her cage newborn babies and selling them to the circus? Not me, that's for sure!

DG was i/c the TV series starring Clare Verity, bigging her up as an expert. It turned out, IIRC, that she had no qualifications at all.

Why would I want solidarity with Daisy Goodwin when she is, for example, a twat?

This sort of thing really annoys me, and it worries me that people wont come here based on what that silly bugger says. I want to shout from the rooftops that Daisy Goodwin in wrong (and a twat). Maybe I'll just satisfy myself with a comment......bet they dont publish it tho'

ThingOne, worse than that....Claire Verity lied about her qualifications. She also spoke to (I think) the News of the World about when she was employed as a nanny by the Jagger family, and shagged Mick on the kitchen counter when Jerry Hall was in the next room.

None of this was Daisy's fault, of course, but it does rather throw a bit of a shadow over her claims to have checked her out before employing her as an expert for the tv programme.

she has got a lot of column inches out of us now

But still she wouldn't be interested in actual debate would she. Just ignorant assertion.

LupusinaLlamasuit · 05/06/2009 16:01

'cyber abuse'?

Sorry (really cross now) but that's self-centred nonsense from a columnist. If you don't want people to comment on your shitty views that you get paid for churning out in, erm, newpapers here's a tip: don't do it.

And did it cross your mind Daisy that giving people misinformation about breastfeeding and breastfeeding support might be a form of damage too? Or does that not actually matter?

JustineMumsnet · 05/06/2009 16:02

We'll try (she's really cross with us though isn't she - I mean not just one mention of how viperish we are, but three?!)

I met DG once. Actually, twice. She is incredibly bright, very switched-on to the vibes of modern culture, very focused and an amazing achiever. She's highly respected in her industry (TV). And she is very pro-helping women as well.

However, the irony of this article appearing in the woman-hating Daily Mail!!

morningpaper, I take extreme offence to your claims that I (and I quote) "cage newborn babies and selling them to the circus".

You, Justine and Carrie shall be hearing from my lawyers.

(For the record, the babies were not newborns, they were 6 months old at the time and had signed the contract with Gerry Cottell himself.)

Humph!

Amazingly, they did actually put my comment on, and I'm suspecting that someone calling themselves Penguin may be from here too

They didn't put my comment on, and I'm gutted - Obv DG is scared of me lol (oh and I thought that about 'Penguin' too

It would indeed be fab.

Whether she's brave enough remains to be seen.

I'm sure your people can work out something with her people though, Justine. Don't let her have San Pellegrino and Kitkats on her rider though, eh? [Nestlé]
