Yes,saw it a couple of years ago, really enjoyed it. If you are a big Freddie fan be prepared for a 'west end musical' sound to the songs though.

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 21:34

FANTASTIC!!!!!!

seen it loads of times and i love it,but then again i must be queen's biggest fan!!!

swivellyscooter · 10/06/2005 21:40

Sorry bubbaloo - title of Queen's No.1 fan is MINE, ALL MINE I tell you!!!

What's your fave Queen song??

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 21:56

OMG there's soooooooo many.

probably spread your wings(as i love the vid in rogers back garden!),good old fashioned lover boy,or dont stop me now.
also like no-one but you.lovely words but i get very upset listening to it.

what about you?

swivellyscooter · 10/06/2005 22:03

Oh yes, Spread Your Wings is def up there at the top of my list. Of course I love all the Queen classics, but also the less well known ones like The White queen and Nevermore. Melancholy Blues is very....erm...melancholy, I guess.

One of my fave collections is Freddie's solo album Mr Bad Guy but only have it on tape unfortunately. Would love to be able to get all of the albums on CD eventually.

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 22:10

also i like its a hard life.love the vid to that too.

mr bad guy is great.ive all the albums on lp,cassette, and cd and foreign imports.my house is like a shrine to freddie-how sad is that?!!!

ive also got every one of their tracks, inc his and some smile stuff on my pc,and my mp3 player is full of freddie stuff to take into hospital(im 40 wks pg!).

if there's any tracks your'e missing CAT me and i'll stick them on a disc for you!.

QueenEagle · 10/06/2005 22:15

Right, have now changed back to my original nickname (am still on crutches and using office chair to scoot around the house - long story).

Anyway - you have put me to shame with your collection of Freddie stuff!!! Wow - where on earth do you get it all from? And how do you afford it?? If I had the money I would buy Queen stuff left right and centre.

How did you first get into Queen, can you remember? I can't think of a defining moment when I got hooked, I just have always seemed to have liked them.

Is it actually possible to get ALL of the Queen and Freddie albums on CD?

QueenEagle · 10/06/2005 22:16

Have you got any Larry Lurex stuff as well??

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 22:26

ive been collecting for years and have so much stuff you wouldnt believe!
i actually got quite a bit of stuff on ebay last year,at queen conventions(through the fan club)and my pride and joy is my signed miracle album which i won years ago.also got loads of books, videos and just about every newspaper article from nov 1991.
also got some lovely photos of garden lodge, taken just after freddie died showing the flowers and messages from fans all over the world.
dont mind doing a few cd's for you but it'll take forever to put all the albums onto disc, especially with the new baby coming anyday.
CAT me with a list of your fave songs and your address and i'll see what i can do.

did you see queen at brixton in april?
are you going to hyde park next month?

i didnt go but heard it was fab.i love queen BUT no-one can replace freddie.it wouldnt be the same for me!

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 22:28

sorry x-posted.

the only lurex stuff ive got is the cd which i THINK is the solo collection-the one with also mr bad guy and barcelona.

QueenEagle · 10/06/2005 22:33

H ave never seen Queen live. When they did their Magic Tour in 1986 I desperately wanted to go to Wembley with my friend at school who was also a Queen nut. As I was only 16 at the time my Dad wouldn't let me go [sob]

My dd was due on 24th November 1991 - in the event she arrived 3 days early but I was still in hospital on that day and sobbed my heart out!!

When are you due btw? You will have more than enough on your plate than burning Freddie cds for me!!

You're right, no-one could ever replace Freddie. Thought George Michael did an excellent Somebody to Love though. Didn't know about Hyde Park - must have my head buried in the sand - what's going on??

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 22:37

queen and paul rodgers are playing in hyde park next month!!!

i didnt go to work for 3 days when freddie died-i was that upset,so know what you mean!

baby WAS due yesterday so im now playing the waiting game.hopefully he'll turn up in the next few days!!

QueenEagle · 10/06/2005 22:42

Who the heck is Paul Rodgers?? Has he actually replaced Freddie?? Are they starting up again then with him?? The last I heard Joh n Deacon didn't want to reform.

Will it be Freddie for a boy then Is your dh a Queen fan too?

btw are you on msn? Would be nice to chat to you if you are.

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 22:47

yeah paul rodgers has replaced freddie as the lead singer.john isnt with them-he doesnt feel they should carry on without freddie!

dh is NOT a queen fan and wouldn't like his son named after him,BUT freddie's fave cat was called oscar.yep, the baby is going to be oscar.

would be nice to chat with you instead of hi-jacking this thread.
im not on msn but im on icq if that helps.

QueenEagle · 10/06/2005 22:54

John Deacon is so right, you know. Hmmm not sure they can ever be the same with only two of the original line up. Mind you Roger and Brian did write some pretty hot songs themselves, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with. Think it might be a mistake though, trying to get it going again.

Don't have icq I'm afraid and dh tells me off if I fiddle with the pc!

bubbaloo · 10/06/2005 22:59

exactly, but there are also loads of brian and roger fans out there.for the gig at brixton some people were paying up to £200 a ticket.

im not very computer minded but i have been meaning to set up msn.when i can figure out how to i'll give you a shout as im always around somewhere on mumsnet!

been nice chatting to you.
