Birthday gift giving or not

Just after a few opinions on what to do in this scenario.

My best friend whom I have known for over 10 years, and who we always exchange birthday and Christmas gifts this year did not give me a gift or present, just a happy birthday text on the day.

Her birthday is after mine, coming up soon.

I already went shopping (way before either of our birthdays) and bought her birthday gift and card, and also Xmas gift and card but I'm unsure what to do now. I've spent around £80 on her birthday present and with me having a baby on the way is quiet a chunk of money, but she is/was worth it. But now I'm unsure if I should still give her the gift or just get a refund and send her a text instead as she did me??

Also not sure how to play it going forwards to Xmas either now?

Any views would be really helpful.

You say she is worth the gift but then say ‘was’ worth the gift - feels a bit shallow to change based on your not receiving a gift. Maybe friend couldn’t afford to buy you a gift but either way, i
doing give gifts to receive gifts, I give because I want to.
if you think money could be the issue and cause embarrassment, consider a thoughtful card and smaller gift rather than the tit for tat if I got
nothing so I’ll give nothing - this is after all your best friend!
