Hi Lauren, just wanted to say thanks for writing the Clarice Bean series - those books really got my eldest dd into reading - and my younger was hooked on your edition of Pippi Longstocking. We all love your work! My (and my daughter's) question is: any chance of more Clarice Bean books? I always think that her and Clem as teenagers would make epic heroines for a series aimed at older kids.

Hi Lauren. My children love your books, thank you.

You were interviewed around the time you became Children's Laureate, and you said that boys are often reluctant to read books that are perceived as girl books. You went on to say that it concerned you as it makes it harder for girls to be equal.
As Children's Laureate, what assumptions do you think people make about girls and boys and their reading motivation, and how do you plan to challenge them?

My question is 'Do you know how awesome you are?
We love your books. I bought them for my son when I was having his younger sister as I wanted him to be like Charlie is to his little sister.
Also we think My Uncle Is A Hunkle is fabulous.
And strawberry milkshake is always referred to as 'Pink Milk' in our house.

Not a question, but a comment. We saw the exhibition of your artwork at Mottisfont last (?) year. It was the most interesting exhibition we have seen there (and we have seen a lot!).

Hi Lauren!
Which of your characters do you/ have you enjoyed drawing the most and why? We love your Pippi Longstocking illustrations and apparently my daughter wants to look like her for next World Book Day! She always picks up your books in the library and says oh look it's by the Charlie and Lola lady!! Smile

Hi Lauren. Your dad was my brother's art teacher at school. I don't know whether you and he are aware that as well as you, there are at least two more professional artists among his students (& that's from a single school year). What's his magic?
