I'm going to see Take That soon and even though am only about 1 hours drive from there I am getting a bit nervous about parking! Anybody know the area or who has been to a concert there and can give advice?

Thanks!

LOL - Birmingham perhaps?

Parking WILL be a nightmare. I have tickets for Robbie later this year and we are very undecided about what to do. Last time I went there (years ago to see David Bowie) it was OK parking - but a long walk to the Bowl. However it took more than 2 hours to get oot the carpark afterwards and another hour to get clear of the Bowl area .

I'm seriously considering selling my Robbie tickets (Friday 15th Sept) because of the parking issue.

Ant offers ? ...

Take the train

Not too long a walk IIRC

serenity · 14/06/2006 11:56

Try and take public transport.

DSis saw Robbie (I think it was him anyway) at MK Bowl, and it took them 4 and a half hours to get out of the carpark, most of which time she was dying for a wee too. She's sworn never to drive up there again.

futurity · 14/06/2006 18:29

i'm scared now! public transport is out as can only really go by car as I am near Cambridge and no direct train line to Milton Keynes.

OK so drive to a station on the line and leave your car there

futurity · 15/06/2006 11:24

been looking into doing that (parking at Leighton Buzzard) but trains coming back are rubbish..in fact it isn't a train..it is a train replacement bus! am going to do a dummy drive to milton keynes this weekend to try and work out where to park if I have to drive.

Futurity - hiya - well as you probably read from my other note don't park in the car parks Grin

I've emailed my friend to find out where her hubby picked her up from and will post back tomorrow when she replies Smile

LOL I resolved my parking issues for Robbie ...

Just sold two spare tickets for £270 on Ebay, I was so surprised that I have now offered the other two tickets I have to the person who lost out by ONLY bidding £265!

Hopefully no parking issues for me as long as I get paid for them!

will keep you informed

futurity · 16/06/2006 18:25

tempted now! i have 4 tickets for Robbie...i could make a tidy profit if I sold them :)

Went to Milton Keynes today to go to Ikea but also to assess the parking and think I have worked out where to park..which is not in the designated car parks!!

i am going too but i live 10 mins walk from the bowl, there is lots of parking around the bowl at about £10.00 a space.... but yes you need to be prepared for everyone leaving at the same time,

do you know emberton park near olney, apparently lots of people camped there last week for the bon jovi concert and the ran coaches to the bowl

sanchpanch · 16/06/2006 18:38

what about parking at bletchley train sation it is one stop from mk station?

sanchpanch · 16/06/2006 18:39

i am shocked at the prices for robbie tickets, got take that ones on ebay for £20.00 each.....

ill wait till england are playing an impotant world cup match and bid on some just finishing for robbie

futurity · 16/06/2006 18:58

went into the train station but there are no trains leaving after about 10.50pm so can't do that (which was my prefered option..parking at Leighton Buzzard)

Ok Futurity - hiya - heard back from my friend and she said...

'After Coffee Hall roundabout (on the A421, about 6-8 roundabouts from the M1)!! Carry on to the next small roundabout which is Bleak Hall r/bout. You need to get on to V2 here and take 1st left which is an industrial estate. Martin picked us up at Hertz Rentacar but the route into the bowl is further up – a couple of 100 yards and its left over the motorway/dual carriageway. Continue walking and it brings you to Gate 6 of the bowl. Only about 5 mins. Streetfinder.co.uk is a good website apparently and you can get a satellite view of the bowl.'

Hope that is of some help to some Smile Also from our bon jovi trip, we noticed that the A5 was virtually empty, so if you can come/go via that route then you should be able to get home much quicker.

N.B. the Bowl parking is £5, but just before the Bowl there's some unofficial parking at £10, and as they're much smaller car parks it will be easier to exit without the massive holdups we experienced. HTH

If you do go hope you have a great time Grin

sanchpanch · 16/06/2006 21:44

if you are able to get a map i would park in fuzton if you can, near some local shops in furzton, there are signs up on the estates saying no parking for event traffic, but if you parked at shops you will be ok, we parked in furzton on a street last weekend and walked to bonjovi a,d car was fine

furzton is next to the bowl or there is an estate called shenley lodge near to the bowl as well
