We are pleased to announce that Stella Creasy, Labour MP for Walthamstow, will be joining us for a webchat on Thursday 27 September from 1-2pm. Prior to being an MP, Stella was Head of Public Affairs at the Scout Association. She is Shadow Minister for Crime Prevention, and has campaigned on pay day loans (including lobbying presenters Ant and Dec about their association with payday loans company Wonga).

Stella is now supporting One Billion Rising UK, the UK arm of the wider One Billion Rising campaign, an international coalition to end violence against women and girls. The campaign will culminate on 14 February 2013 on the 15th anniversary of V Day. V-Day is about women's collective strength, numbers and solidarity across borders. You can see Stella's Mumsnet Blog about One Billion Rising here.

As ever, if you're unable to join us on the day please post your questions in advance here.

Thank you
MNHQ

ah - the biscuit question! There is no contest if you're talking chocolate (foxes viennese still the best although the mini milk things M&S have started doing come a close second) am also partial to deconstructing malted milk sandwiches and have gone off cake completely since the jubilee when I ate 58 sponge cakes in three days (proper aversion therapy) so hot tip if you want me to come to something bring pastry not icing! ;-)

@JammySplodger

And has anyone asked what your favourite biscuit is yet?

StellaCreasyMP · 27/09/2012 14:12

I may possibly have shown too much interest in the biscuit question in this response it is true.....

yes sorry just seen these - am hoping to meet the campaigners soon in person! Think its an important sign of the times that a grassroots campaign like this has got so much support so quickly - will be interesting to see how the sun respond. What I also hope is that there is a broader discussion about positive and diverse images of women too - I was talking yesterday to a really interesting project that is about to launch about positive images for women not just of their figures but of their futures. Want young women to have more ideas, not less, about what they could do and aspire to be and think there's a real appetite not just to challenge objectification of women but also a lack of representation of others aspects of what we're capable of too!

@emcwill74

...and page 3?!

StellaCreasyMP · 27/09/2012 14:16

StellaCreasyMP · 27/09/2012 14:21

yes- the walthamstow twitterati collaborated to challenge me by organising cake competitions and then asking me to judge them. By the third day I was shaking from the sugar overload and a fear of the fruitcake mix........

foxes are just right in terms of sugar- as have explained to the mumsnet peopl oreos are too sugary even for me!

JammySplodger · 27/09/2012 14:23

Agree, can't be doing with oreos. I was hoping the malted milk sandwich would be ...

malted milk
bourbon (or possibly penguin)
malted milk

StellaCreasyMP · 27/09/2012 14:24

CinnabarRed · 27/09/2012 21:29

Hi Stella! Nice to see you doing so well.

I was actually a couple of years above you, but we did some drama stuff together.

Although I was actually more familiar with your brother.... Blush
