Yes, No, Meh? If you haven't already, the time to make your mind up on AV is getting closer, so we've invited John Prescott from the No camp and Katie Ghose from the Yes campaign to answer your questions about the referendum. Join us for a webchat at 11am, tomorrow, Wed 27 April.

Katie Ghose is an experienced campaigner and barrister and chief executive of the Electoral Reform Society. As chair of the Yes to AV campaign, Katie has said 'the alternative vote is a small change that will make a big difference - making MPs work harder to get and stay elected, and giving you more of a say'.

John Prescott was deputy prime minister from 1997 - 2007, is now a life peer and is campaigning against AV, urging people to say No to 'hung parliaments, coalitions, broken promises and a weakening of democracy'.

The BNP vote isn't big enough to cope with the weight of people who won't preference them so they won't win - but you are right that right wing votes will be outed wheres now they are hidden - sadly in a democracy some views most of us don't like will be held by some.

The effect of a gerrymandered area is lessened by AV - first past the post makes gerrymandering more effective - the fact that the current gerrymandering is pro tory might explain why they want first past the post to stay.

that I think is why no campaigners are worried about the 'unpredictibiltiy' of AV

Sadly i'm a bit late to join the debate but it's great to see so many people engaged. i'm definitely voting yes because i think it's time we shake up our system and i hope to see more mps engaging with us. I agree that there could have been more media coverage on this because it's so important people are aware of the issues here.
