AN EASY BUT EFFECTIVE CAMPAIGN WE CAN ALL DO TO PROTECT YOUNG KIDS FROM INAPPROPRIATE IMAGES IN EVERY DAY LIFE.

I couldn't believe the explicit nature of the front page of the Daily Sport Newspaper which appears on the bottom shelf in full view of smaller children in our local village shop. I asked the newsagent if she minded turning it round so that the sports section was visible instead - which she happily did and still does. Just a small step to stop this needless sexualisation of our children!! Please join my campaign!!!

They must be choking with laughter where you live. Do you have any evidence children are sexualised by seeing nude pictures - or is it more of a prudish knee-jerk reaction from a knowing adult perspective? More widely will you be asking gallery curators to turn paintings of nudes to the wall in case children see them? And will you also be avoiding certain public statues. (I hear there's a very cheeky one by 'Michelangelo' of someone called 'David' and you can see his willy and everything.... ! )

Because "David" is the same as the Daily Sport

They are just as bad aren't they!? What Bout all the other papers/mags...... Lots of bids in bikinis etc on show,or is that ok? Who knows these days

there is a difference between porn and art. art doesnt tend to sexualise the images of nudity, there is nothing wrong with nudity not intent to arouse sexual feelings but when you are leaving this material around in the view of children, it could be arousing some early feelings in them too, therefore prematurely sexualising them-thats a form of child sex abuse because they are made to look at images too early for them to be viewing, they should be protected from this content, its that simple. also for women growing up, seeing overly enhanced women with unattainable bodies as alot of them have plastic surgery and are then airbrushed could of course cause damage to teens self esteem and give them a distorted body image of themselves and how they 'should' be, which is probably why more and more people are unhappy with what they look like. i could go on.

also i am doing a campaign about it too, whilst being involved with campaigns on mumsnet and the front page campaign, mines just on facebook, been on there for 2 years, i have been concerned with this topic for 10 years and have grown up to this culture and yeah i feel affected by it especially as a woman, so theres your evidence!
