March against the cuts - 26th March

There is a big TUC organised demonstration in London on March 26th to demonstrate against the brutal cuts to public services by the coalition. I'm concerned that not enough people know about it and that unless you are a member of a trade union you will not have an umbrella group to join. Would it be too political to have a Mumsnet banner for people to gather under? So many of these cuts affect families and it would be wonderful if we all got out there with buggies and balloons and lots of cake. The government has already shown with the woodland debacle that it will listen if it's policies are universally unpopular. It's our job to show them when they are! What do you think?

Hi alittleteapot - could you bear with me while I see if I can get an answer for you on this one?

Thanks,

I'm afraid it probably is a little too political for us. Obviously there will be some Mnetters who support some of the cuts (or at least feel they are a necessary evil). We tend not to put our name and logo to things that would be divisive on the boards. Enjoy the demo though and of course you are free to publicise it on the boards...
