What do you think of this? Looks good if you have no other children and have an extra £850 to spare...ahem.

How heavy would that be though - its bad enough with one on.

DH and I used to have one each.

You'd have to have mega strong thighs I reckon.

Can you get trailers for three children? So a bigger child and two twins? That might be more useful for me.

You really don't need to spend all that money.

Bobike do a great seat which goes in front of you, so you have one on the back in a Hamax or whatever, and one in front.

They can do this from 6/7 months, it is easy.

My dts are 3 and can still fit in the front seat.

The problem with a trailer is that the are quite likely to fight, and yu won't see. Bike trailers are narrower than prams, and don't have a divide like a Mountain Buggy etc does, so one will probably lean on the other.

The only thing I would change is to get a ladies bike with a low crossbar- so much easier and safer for getting on and off.

e3chick · 21/06/2010 14:18

Hmm, that's a good point re the fighting.

I imagine getting each twin into the bike and then getting oneself on and off with both twins in place must be really tricky though, especially as they get heavier.
The good thing about the oh-so-expensive bike is that it has a stand so I imagine no problems with leaning it against a wall and then the bike collapsing as you try to get the second one in.

I have a two year old too, so she could maybe go in the trailer with a baby and the other baby could go up front, but I would still imagine fights and arguments in the back as well as balance issues.

I'm having a nightmare flashback to my two fighting in the trailer at Centreparcs and trying to throw each other out!

KeithTalent · 21/06/2010 15:53

What I do is put one in the back seat first, then the front one. When I first got it I put the front one in first- and found out the hard way that it does make the handlebars tip.

Even with a stand, I dn't think you'd want to leave them in it tbh.

get one of these

kangaroo bike with a seat on the back too?

expensive and heavy, but very practical. I use one with my 2 girls (dd1 is nearly 6, and ASD. dd2 is 3) they fit fine, and will do for a few years yet.
