Is anyone really struggling with the expense of twins?

Hi,
I'm new to all this but had to find out if anyone else is really struggling to afford their twins?
We have DD (4) and DTD (13 mths). i have just had to resign as a primary school teacher of 16 years as we can't afford the childcare for all 3 girls. (£118.50 per day!!!!)
We are also finding things like joining clubs, soft play and swimming lessons etc impossible as there are no discounts and paying for 2 at once is just too expensive.
I have spoken to various agencies and there seems to be no financial support unless you are in the sure start catagory. We are not and are also just not able to access tax credits etc. consequently we are struggling to make it though the month.
Any ideas?
Cheers

I wouldn't worry about swimming lessons for now. Soft play etc are seen as a very occasional treat for us.

Pretty much we did things that didn't cost anything. Do you have any option to go part time with teaching ? Once your older dd goes to school childcare costs will be less, especially part time).

There isn't any getting round it - it does cost more because you can't do hand me downs in the same way you often can with siblings. And everything comes at the same time (budgeting for school trips is a scary thought sometimes).

I guess you just have to lower your expectations and find things to do that don't cost much.

I am just getting an inkling of all the expense that lies ahead. My twin boys are 5 1/2 months, and DD is 2. From mid June, my only income will be statutory maternity pay & I'm dreading it. (DH works FT).

I am going back to work at the beginning of August . It's breaking my heart, but at least I do enjoy my job, & will be bringing a bit more money into the house. It will hopefully be on a PT basis, but through no fault of my own, that's still up in the air!

I notice the expense with nappies mostly. But also, the boys are now on spoonfeeds (had been ebf up until a few weeks ago), and I can't believe how expensive baby rice/ cereal is. We're also getting through lots of pureéd fruit & veg (they are hungry boys)! Think I notice this especially because up til now their food was free!

I can only imagine how the expense will mount as DD & DTs get bigger! I'm fortunate in that my job involves being on call from home, so I may be able to work extra hours, whilst still being at home with the kids.

Sorry, no real advice, just wanted you to know you're not your own!
