Emmaljunga Prams?

Does anyone own the Twin City cross? If so, what is your experience of it?

We are really struggling to find a twin pushchair we really like.

Thankyou!

Have you seen it? I looked at it when buying my pushchair (I have got the Nipper 360).

I really liked it because it has a lovewly comfy looking seating area/faces you etc. but it really is too big to be practical IMHO - it's massive when folded, very wide (won't go through any doors as far as I can see) and extremely heavy. If you don't every have to fold it up and lift it into your car boot or take it into shops, it might well be a great pram, but most of us have to do those things some of the time! HTH.

Search this topic for a previous thread on pushchairs, when I was pg there was quite an extensive discussion on the pros and cons of the main players. And if you are a Tamba member (it's worth it just for the JoJoMamanBebe 20% discount which pays the membership on it's own in my house) you can get their buggy guide which reviews most of what's on the market.

Thanks. We haven't been able to see it, but did see some other Emmaljunga prams at a stockist yesterday. Nowhere has a display model in Ireland, so we have made the decision to buy it without seeing it, based on the quality and what we saw of the singles yesterday.

It won't fit in our car, as we have to use all seven seats as we already have three children, but we have decided to get a Baby Jogger twin to use in the car anyway. It will fit through our front doors based on the measurements, but we keep our current pushchair in the garage anyway.

It is windy where we live, and usually horrendous weather, and I walk our dogs a lot and do lots of walking from home, so I feel I need something more cosy for walking other than shopping.

I think you'll like it then - I remember reading a very positive review of it and it was from someone who did a lot of country walks. Try and get a demo of the jogger fold mechanism - I must be the only person who doesn't find it easy and intuitive, I really struggled with it! Very light though and some really nice features like the dual hoods.

I am such a buggy geek....

Thankyou. I just really wanted a nice looking 'proper' pram and there is so little choice for twins.

We are very lucky to have found a great nursery/baby shop that took a lot of time to show us everything. (suprising how unhelpful some are!) We di dlook at the Nipper 360 and he said it is one of their most popular twin pushchairs, but the baby jogger just beat it as it folds slightly smaller and my husband liked the 'gadgety' folding mechanism and dual hoods...

I had one and loved it !!! We had a 9 seater transit minibus as had 5 kids once the twins arrived,it stayed upright all the time apart from when we went on holiday,we just lifted it in and out of the back of the minibus.
I could get it through my front door but not my internal doors.I loved the fact i could see my babies,i loved the fact they were cosyed up together as twins should be ,i loved the whole mechanism of the hood, raincover and sun sheild.
My husband on the other hand hated it due to its bulk !!
Unfortunately once i had taken the carrycot off and put the seat units on and my twins got bigger and heavier i had to sell it on as because it didnt have swivel wheels it was taking its toll on my back having to bend to tip it to turn etc

But yes i agree it was sooooooo lovely to have a real pram which is something very hard to find for twins x Good luck with your babies

I had one when looking after 2 little ones under 18 months. In terms of fitting in cars and size when folded, I completely agree: it is huge, barely fits in car boots and takes up space.

For a walking pram in cold weather it's amazing. The pram liner and cover is really secure, and there is loads of space to fit a blanket underneath the cover if need be. Basket huuuuge (great for walking everywhere as we did) and the hood is just amazing - comes right over and keeps them dry. I would recommend this to anyone, as long as it is not going in cars (!).

It is actually very easy to push because of the chassis, and great for walks because of the suspension. Also I really liked it that although they are together most of the time, it is still dead easy to let them sleep and the seat unit is actually pretty big (fitted a tall 2 yr old comfortably). Don't let the fixed wheels put you off at all. Hope you find one to suit you, and good wishes for your twins!
