I'm hoping to get one of these to transport my newborn DT's and DS2 who is 2.

Does anyone own one of these, how do you find it?

If you ordered from NZ, how long did it take to arrive?

TIA

Im sure someone on the pushchair shed in products has one

I haven't had one, but don't know if you were interested in buying 2ndhand as I've seen one on ebay and on the TAMBA noticeboards of late. Be a bit quicker than getting from NZ!

We've got the ABC twin everest, with the reclining toddler seat, as our son was only 18 months when our twins were born. I ordered the twin buggy from someone in the UK ( I don't think they are operating any longer)and ordered the toddler seat direct from New Zealand. I think it took a few weeks.
The buggy itself was a godsend, as it's only just now (over a year later) that our son is up for longer walks and now he usually goes in the right direction.
It meant that my wife was able to do the school run with our eldest daughter every day and was also able to walk down into town. It's a big buggy, so you get a fair few looks or comments, but it gets into most shops and can make it in through our side door - though it is tight. I'd really recommend it. I'll be glad to move down to a lighter buggy now, as it is reasonably heavy, but it really made the difference for us as it kept the whole family mobile. It's expensive to buy, but is well made, sturdy and despite the weight, not too bad to push as it's well balanced - though you have to put a bit of effort in for steep hills or lots of kerbs. The only downside for me was that it was a bit bulky to move about when folded, such as when lifting it into the car. It's ideal if you have room to store it unfolded - we kept ours in the porch at the side of our house.
Let me know if you've any more questions about it. We're planning on selling ours in the next week or two so if you're interested I can send you a message when I get round to advertising it.

Cheers,
David

Hi,
We've had an ABC double plus toddler seat for just over a year (my eldest was 16 months when the twins arrived). We bought it new from New Zealand and can't rate it highly enough. I have to take the front wheels off to get it in my car (a Renault Scenic) but it's no problem, in fact I'm often quicker to put my three and the buggy in the car, than some of my friends with just one child!
We are looking to sell our triple now that my toddler is walking good distances, so get in touch with me here if you'd like any more details.

Hi, we have just received ours yesterday! We took it for a test drive today, and it is fab. I don't have twins, but am being induced with DC3 on Friday, and already have DD1 (3.4 with Global Development Delay) and DD2, 20 months.

I put the order in on 10/03/09, and it arrived on 06/04/09, so just under 1 month.

They have been great with communication, and I emailed them to say that one of the knobs has broken in transit, and they are sending a replacement immediately.

All-in mine cost £595, but I did ask for a discount. I think it would have come to about £700 judging by the dispatch note.

does anyone still have one of these for sale?

Hi,
I am desperate to buy an ABC buggy and toddler seat! I have 4 month old twin girls and a 20 month boy. I have been trying to get out and about with a lightweight double and sling. Starting to become impossible as my toddler is a nigtmare walking (never goes in the direction I want to!). It is starting to get so hard that I have become a recluse at home! Can anyone tell me if it is best to have the static toddler seat or the reclining one? Can you take the hood off the reclining one as I am not too sure I would be able to see over the top of it? Is anybody thinking of selling theirs? If so please, please, please let me know. I keep losing out bidding on ebay and I can't quite afford it new. Many thanks.

Keep your eyes open on ebay as I'm due to list my ABC Everest twin buggy with static toddler seat (which has its own raincover). This is an amazing buggy (as all you who have own have emphasised) and mine is in excellent condition.

SillyMillysMummy · 13/05/2009 17:37

Hi Suzisum - have been contactong you through ebay lol, just thought i would say hello

HJMcB · 09/06/2009 21:38

dadoffour - are you still looking to sell your abc twin everest with reclining toddler seat? if yes, please let me know how much, where you are and the colour. thanks Hazel

dadoffour · 13/06/2009 15:28

Hi Hazel,
It's still for sale - I hadn't got as far as advertising it anywhere, just giving it a good clean - it's now tucked away behind the sofa.
It's a black and red model, which looks pretty funky. I'll take some photos of it over the weekend and see if I can put them on here or send you a link somehow.
We're in Dunfermline and I was probably going to try to get about £400 for it. It's had a years use but is a well made buggy so is still in good condition - except that the parcel tray at the bottom has a bit of a hole worn in it as one of the wheels had been rubbing against it.
Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers,
David

Hi NKffffffffc9355366X120d9f8e1ce,
You'd asked about the static or reclining seat. The hood comes off, though we've never removed it from ours as it folds right back so doesn't get in the way. I haven't had any experience of the static one but we liked the recliner as the "sun" hood (not applicable where I live!) was pretty good at keeping the rain off without having to attach a plastic cover and my 18 mth son slept well in it. We also swapped the kids around so one of the twins was in the top seat when they were a little bigger, which made it easier to manoeuvre, and I don't think we'd have been able to do that as well with the static seat.
I'd have thought the ABC would work well with your twins and 20 month old. We were in a similar position - our son could walk not too bad, but never consistently where you wanted him!

lou031205 · 13/06/2009 19:06

Just a word of warning:

I have DD1, 3.6, DD2, 22Mo, and DD3, 2mo. When DD3 was 3 weeks old I was doing the preschool run, and had the two older girls in the bottom, and DD3 on top.

I went down a slight hill, and off a kerb. THE WHOLE BUGGY FLIPPED, with all three children ending up underneath it. Thankfully, the only injury was a slight bump to the head of DD1. I am quite sure that had I been using the restraining strap, I would have been flipped with it.

PLEASE, PLEASE try to ensure that you cross roads using a dropped-kerb wherever possible, and if not, be ultra careful as you drop the buggy off the kerb.

Also, it doesn't like raised profiles like manhole covers or big stones on a path.

The other thing I find is that as I am only 8 stone, although 5'8" tall, it takes my whole body weight to resist the pull towards the road due to the camber of our pavements.

I hope that you are not put off, but it was incredibly frightening to see the buggy flip, and not be sure if I would find my newborn alive when I picked it up . I just didn't realise how different it was from my P&T, which would happily bounce up & down pavements with DDs 1&2.

lesleypauljude · 23/06/2009 18:46

David - do you still have your buggy for sale?

Or does anyone else have one?

Thanks
Lesley

dadoffour · 30/06/2009 08:43

Yes, still for sale. Finally got a couple of photos and will add a couple more once I get a nice evening to take them outside. See photos at:

I'll post it on the for sale section too. I'm hoping to get around £400 for it. Contact me on djwilson()ieee()org if you're interested

lesleypauljude · 01/07/2009 21:45

Hi David,

I've just emailed you at the 2 different email addresses from here and Flikr. However they are both a bit scrambled, so not sure if I have reached you or not.

If not, you can contact me by googling Lesley Woodall Baby Loves Disco. The pages that come up 2nd, 3rd and 4th all have a link to email me from!

Hope to hear from you soon anyway.

Thanks
Lesley

I've just listed my ABC triple pram on ebay - have a search, it's a red one. Ends 11th Dec 09.

Themagicnumber · 10/12/2009 21:48

I had an Everest double with fixed toddler seat for about five months (DS1 was 19mths when our twins arrived). It was huge, heavy and not especially practical - but it was still an absolute godsend! Without it I probably wouldn't have made it out of the house much. DS1 wanted to walk a lot, but if he kicked off or got tired I could chat with him in the toddler seat. I think the toddler seat helped to make DS1 still feel special.

DS1 stopped napping in the pram just before twins were born, so I didn't need a reclining toddler seat and wouldn't have used it much. If you have a toddler who likes to nap in the pram or you are out with the pram for long periods, then a recliner would probably be worth consideration.

After the everest I had a powertwin and sometimes used it with a sling for all three round the shops. I adored this pram and so did my three, but the front wheel has finally given in. I now have a nipper and the littlest one sits on the hood sideways or between the fron seats when needs be!
