Twin reins

Has anyone ever used these? I saw some on Twins UK after reading about them in the Tamba mag some time ago. But they are £26 so would like to know how useful they are before buying. Do they pull each other in different directions? Get tangled up?

My 17mo DTs are now walking, and I would love to let them walk more often, but it is just impossible when I am alone with them. They do not yet (do they ever?!?) stop when I tell them or have any road sense. We live in London and close to a busy-ish road and am terrified of something happening to them.

I know lots of people abhor reins, I did too before I had twins, but now I can't see another stress-free way of getting them walking outside!

I tried these twin reins and couldnt get on with them. I found them wanting to go in different directions and getting all tangled up. I found using individual reins that go on the wrist easier to use. In my opinion they were a waste of my money!

I also tried these and we didn't get on with them, they were a waste of money. Total tangley nightmare, like trying to walk a pair of crazy dogs . I'm also in London, just resigned to keeping them in the buggy until we hit the park or a quieter street.

Never tried them but do use two normal single reins or wrist links. The kids don't actualy use them properly, as they walk holding my hand, one either side of me, but they are there as a back up should one of them pull their hand away on a road or something. My two (now 22 months) now walk very reliably by my side, but I remember the first few months we walked outside taking a bit of effort. My advice would be to practice in safer areas, such as the park, woods, etc., until they are a bit more reliable and you're a bit more confident.

Thanks. glamourbadger I had images of looking like a mad dog walker. Esp as my DD is so much stronger and bossier than my DS - visions of him being dragged across the park!

ANy recommendations for wrist links? They seem a nice compromise actually.

I just used two sets of normal reins. Much cheaper and perfectly adequate. Is there anyone locally who has them? At your twins club? Maybe you could borrow them for a day to try them out?
