Pram advice- twins & young toddler

Sure this has been done to death but in need of advice prams. My twins are due in Jan by which time my DD will be all of 18 months old. Apart from everything else that is worrying me about this I just can't imagine how will ever get out the house. DD will be too little for buggy board, would a tandem for her & one baby with other in a sling be best? Or double buggy with some sort of toddler attachment? How easy to push baby, toddler & carry another, never mind nappy bag, wee bit of shopping etc. I don't drive but can't imagine ever using public transport again. Actually can't imagine ever leaving the house again TBH. Oh and any other general advice welcome too!

i think p&t is your best option. if dd isn't with you you can have it as a single with one twin in and the other twin still in a sling.

Don't have a car & don't think anyone is going to offer to drive me & 3 babies anywhere so would rather avoid the expense of car seats. Powertwin out then. Think in that case a double seems best option . Will read back the recommendations tomorrow . Thanks folks.

Had triplets with a just over 2yr old. We have the double ABC buggy with the toddler seat. This is now reclineable so you could put any combination of children on the top not just your toddler. I have the triplets in the ABC with the reclinable seat on the top and have the strolli on the side for the toddler. My 4yr old gets pulled on her bike tied with a rope. tell me about pack horse.

I find the ABC great. If you contact them directly they could probably give you a price to send it to UK. It is nice only being 2 wide but being able to fit 3 children tied up so to speak.

That sounds good Chuffed. Is that the one from New Zealand, friends in Oz have one but not such a big deal for them to get it sent over. Did you buy yours direct or pick it up 2nd hand?

chuffed My hat goes off to you-How the hell do you cope??I have 5yr old twins & a teenager & that is more than enough to test my patience!!Any tips for staying sane?

Chuffed · 18/09/2008 09:00

Yes the one from NZ - would try to get a view on one if you can. The people at the website are really helpful.

groovychick2 - I have moments, take all the help I can get and I'm sure it will get more insane as they all get older.
The children are all pretty good though I am lucky (and I use lots of bribery)

Ds1 was not quite 2 when the dts were born. I remember having the same fears that you have and panicked that I was going to be housebound!
I have an ergo baby carrier and carried ds1 on my back at first which he loved. you can also carry a baby on the front with the ergo. Can't really advise on a pushchair as we already had a double bike trailer which we use as a pushchair (although have a double mclaren buggy now as well and have used the mountain buggy which I thought was really good).

you;ve probably chosen already, but if you haven't: valco also makes a toddler seat to attach to a double or a single. i have been extremely happy with it.

if you do carry a little one in a sling take care to wear abdominal support.
