Hi
I am starting a nannying job in October and will be taking my daughter with me and will be looking after another little one - they will be 5months and 9months in october (I dont mind carrying my daughter until she is 6months - i know some buggies are from 6 months!)

Ideally I would like a buggy that can face forwards or rearwards - fits through doorways if possible (the other mum is keen for a side by side so they can see/babble to each other, which is fine with me!) - in an ideal world it would fold in one piece and not be too expensive. Will be for pavements and feeding the ducks etc (mostly paths - not across fields too much!)

I do realise we might have to compromise on somethings! But will consider most things!!

Thanks so much in advance for your ideas!

Bebe Confort Twin club? Can look at each other and be used as single if required without looking daft.

Hello have not looked at all the links (too lazy ) but I remember when I was looking for a double buggy for my DTs the First Wheels City Twin can be forwards or backwards (or one of each). It looks a bit like a Bugaboo (but cheaper...).

Not sure but think icandy Pear can do the same.

Aha have looked at links now, it is No 4 on MatNan's links.

fairibell · 03/07/2008 13:37

has anyone used any of these - like the look of First Wheels City Twin but wonder if is a pain to put up and take down as seats come off! then again have an icandy cherry now and love it!! lol

I tried out the City Twin (well I put DS1 in it as was still pg with DTs). I really liked it, only put off as I really needed a tandem instead of side by side as I have a very narrow front door (I got a Powertwin in the end). I didn't try putting it up and down but I did play with the seats and they are easy to recline / swap into carrycot etc. I like the look of them too.

Shame you don't have an icandy Apple as they can convert into the Pear but don't think Cherry can (might be wrong mind you!).

I have the first wheels city twin and it is fabby!!! The babies can face forwards/backwards or even one of each!!! They also have pretty colours

accessorizequeen · 04/07/2008 21:22

Anyone with a city twin, can you swap carrycot with seat just by clicking in? I'm interested because some days I'd just need 2 carrycots (for dt's due in sept) and some days one carrycot & one seat so ds2 could ride in if nec. & I could carry t'other twin. Don't want to go to loads of hassle every night! And how difficult to put car seats on, click again or a whole load of faff like with the bugaboo?

emmaljunga twin from ebay

youngbutnotdumb · 05/07/2008 22:28

My mum has an emmaljunga cerox ancd is fabulous! Folds in one piece, reversible handle so no fussy seats. Is a bit expensive but can pick them up on ebay. My mums selling hers for £200 including raincover, footmuff and apron but dread to think of the postage LOL.

accessorizequeen... I don't have city twin but do have powertwin which does click in click out seats etc. It is great but a word of warning about this type of arrangement, it is a bit annoying when your older DC says they will walk, so you have for example two carrycots or car seats on, and then the older DC starts wailing they are tired and need to go in pushchair, and you can't swap the children over as the seats are not suitable for both babies and toddlers. Thankfully my DTs are now almost 6 months so can swap children around as all can go in all seats. Some buggies (nipper / mountain buggy etc) can take babies or toddlers in same seat configuration (not sure any tandems take from birth in both seats though, without using carrycots or carseats).

Same situation happens the other way round. ie I walked into town and to the swings with DS1 in buggy, DS2 in car seat on buggy, and DD in sling a couple of months ago. But once we were there, I was a bit stuck as couldn't put DD into the empty seat that DS1 had vacated whilst he was playing, and it was a boiling hot day, which meant I had to try to get DS1 in and out of swings etc, and play with him in sandpit in blazing sun, all with DD still strapped to me, rather than her sitting nicely in shade like DS2.

Hope that makes some sense! it was something I hadn't thought of.

accessorizequeen · 08/07/2008 22:20

Thank you, Egg! that's really v.helpful, I did understand exactly as was thinking through the options this week. DS2 is only 19 months and hardly walks anywhere when we're out, doubt he will do in 2 months when dt's arrive. Hmm, back to thinking about all this!
