Quadruple pushchair or double pushchairs and slings?

I’m expecting our 2nd set of twins in August, our boys will be 22 months old so they are still in their pushchair for longer walks. We already have a double pushchair but I’m looking at possibly getting a quad pushchair for. I can’t work out if it would be better for me just to stick with the double pushchair and then wear the babies in a tandem sling, or whether to invest in a quadruple pushchair?.
it’s not too difficult when DH is out with us as I have an extra set of hands, but if it’s just me I want to be as hands free as possible

Has anyone had experiences with both and if so which did you prefer? Thank you ☺️

I have the same gap but singletons each time. The toddlers will only need a buggy for 6 months. Would a triple be easier than a quad? Then you can put a buggy board on it for one toddler or wear one baby in a sling, changing around as suits you.

Would the out n about wagon work at all? Two older ones strapped in to the seats, and then babies in carrycots at the bottom?

I had a triple and never really used it as it was so cumbersome.

I don’t think your baby will dislike the sling. Tbh I think this is first baby thinking (as I did), when you have your second and third and they don’t have a choice they quickly get used to it. Trust me, you will need a sling. I’d ask anyone with second or third babies this same question and you will find the same answer.

I could say trust me, you need the quad because I've seen Mums nearly pulled over by their older children hanging off them (when they're being normal, annoying, demanding, adorable ratbags toddlers) and they're vulnerable because of the weight of the younger babies affecting their balance. Plus it's more difficult to sprint in two directions at once with two escapees and two in slings.

My mother didn't have multiples, but she had 4 in 5 years - she loaded up the Silver Cross with baby in the normal place, 2 year old on the seat, 3 year old at the foot and the 4 year old standing on the crossbar penned in by the handle and shopping bags on hooks for that reason; all in one place, all coralled and transportable without having any of them able to escape or demanding to be carried.
