2 x toddler seats on long haul flight??

I've posted this on the holiday forum too. But thought I'd post here too.

My husband and I are travelling to South Africa with BA with 20 month old twins and a 5 year (yes maybe we are mad). The flight is a night flight and I'm just praying they all sleep. I have 2 bulkhead bassinet position seats reserved for my husband and I for the outward and return flights. Then a seat for our 5 year old. So the twins will be on our laps. BA do toddler seats that attach onto the tray that is folded down from the bulk head. After lots of queries on whether the twins will fit into this seat, I think they will. The twins are small for their age and below the 5th percentile for weight. But anyone else used them and if so what are your thoughts?

But mainly has anyone had these seats/used them? And if so we're they easily available or has there been an occassion when there wasn't enough of these seats available? Or have you always been able to get one if needed? Aware we will be wanting 2 of these for our twins to sleep in 🙏
Any other tips for long haul travel with twin toddlers greatly appreciated too

I'm not 100% but I'd have thought they have enough bassinets available for all the bassinet spaces? They don't have many bassinet spaces on board.

I've seen them in use lots of times on long haul flights, including funnily enough for twins on a flight to South Africa many years ago!

Are you and your husband on either side of the aisle? I've a feeling you can only have one extra child in each block of seats, because there is only ever one extra oxygen mask.

Be aware that even if you pre booked the seats you can be moved if some of greater need needs the space.

While this isn't untrue, I've definitely seen two infants (with parents) seated in the middle row of 4 across the front of economy on a large aircraft more than once. Would make sense that a row of seats with space for two bassinets has two infant oxygen masks above it.

But yes, generally, there's only one infant oxygen mask per side of the aisle on smaller aircraft.

@SnowsFalling you are right with oxygen masks on some flights. Short haul... you have to be opposite each other on the aisle. For long haul it depends on the plane. So we have our seats confirmed (but yes I know we can be moved if someone of greater needs books). So on the way out we have the 3 middle seats. A bassinet seat on each of the aisle seats for my husband and I and then 5 year old sat between us. It's a 3 by 3 by 3 plane layout. On the way back the plane is different and husband and 1 twin by the window and then I'm separated in middle seats with 1 twin and 5 year old. So we are fine with oxygen masks.... although they could change the plane and throw us into chaos!
