Hello mummies,

So I'm pregnant after 2 back to back miscarriages (yaaaaaay!)
I had a scan at 5w 2d due to a bleed. It was the consultant who did the scan with a portable scanner machine. She said she can see something in the sac and said the sac looked "busy and full"? She booked me I'm again a week later to see what was going on as she felt she could also see a line through the sac which could imply twins in the one sac. So fast forward a week, I had a scan with a sonographer. She didn't ask why I was there( I.e possible twins) and she found a baby with a flicker (fab!) Measuring 6w 4d. She didn't look around just said its fine and when I mentioned twins she said it's too early to tell? I'm now confused and examining my scan photos!

I do have a private scan booked for tomorrow, which I already had booked before the bleeding.

I'm just wondering what others see in my scan pics and is it similar to ur identical twin scans at 5w and 6w? I'd love to see your early ID twin scans too if you don't mind sharing.

😊 1st pic 5w 2d second 6w 4 days.

I know this isn't what you asked but I'd be careful of having too many early scans. I had a bleed caused by having a scan very early on (she pushed too hard trying to get an image). Unless you are having an internal scan?

I think your best course of action is to wait a few weeks and see. Finding out now won't make any material difference.

Sorry to say this, but I think it's unlikely to be twins. I know there's stories of twin pregnancies being overlooked and mistaken for singletons, but that would be more likely where they have separate sacs and placentas (DCDA), i.e. one not visible in the area being scanned. If they're in the same sac (as the first sonographer thought), the second sonographer would have seen that more easily than the first one did. If the second thinks there's only one, that's more likely to be accurate.

Hope your scan went well @abbmebtdab

Hope your scan went well. I have DCDA Twins, found out at 8 weeks but they had separate sacs.

How did your scan go?

Have to say I can see why they said the sac looked busy and full and if I'm honest your second scan looks more like triplets to me 😳
