Could you take your twins home after birth?

Hi ladies,
Im 12wks today with identical (MCDA) twins, 1 placenta but 2 sacs. The doctor told me today they are likely to be born early & by c-section. She said that if they came around 32 weeks they may need to stay in hospital for a couple of weeks. In an ideal world I would take them home with me once I was discharged. Did you take them home with you if they were born around 32 ish weeks?

I’m 33+5 today with di/di twins.

I’ve had some blood pressure issues and ended up in a delivery suite at 30 weeks when we all had a reaction to some medication. They were about 20 minutes from doing a section and getting them out, but luckily we all recovered and they’re still cooking.

I’ve been quite pessimistic through this pregnancy and I’ve expected them to arrive early, but I think that’s been a way of managing my expectations in case they are premature.

Now I’m quite hopeful that we’ll get to 37 weeks and they’ll come home with me.
Had they arrived at 32 weeks they would not have been coming home for several weeks.
Currently in my due date group there have been single babies born already at 32-34 weeks and they are all still in hospital and will be until feeding and breathing are established.

Twins are a joy but also a worry. I’ve been more worried than joyful this pregnancy but as I get closer to my due date I’m feeling the joy a bit more!

Had MCDA twins at 29 weeks and my twins were In hospital for 8 weeks

I had a vaginal birth with McDa twins at 35+6, induced. A couple of days in hospital for antibiotics home back in on day 5 due to weight loss for five days.

Strapping 7yos now. Best thing to do is just be flexible and go with the flow.
