Help me!! I’m literally stuck for ideas. I have 5 month old girl twins and the day is so hard looking for things to do. One is pretty chilled, the other literally wants to get going she rolls all over the place then cries as she gets bored. You rotate them around the play Matt, bouncer, take for walks and try singing and playing but need other ideas. Help me please

I bathe my 4 month olds during the day- I bring the baby bath in the lounge, put a towel on the floor and let one splash around whilst I chat to the other. They love their baths but hated it if I took one in the bathroom and were left behind.

Sometimes i take one for a walk around the house if the other’s asleep and pop to the supermarket for new baby clothes.

What about in the high chair with the stick on high chair toys? I have a bouncer thing/jumperoo which they sit in to practice jumping/weight on legs - a skip hop one I think it's called? My active twin likes going in that
Also the play matts which are filled with water

I remember that age being hard. Match stick Monkeys kept mine entertained for a chunk of time at that age. Or they loved laying on a foil blanket. Sounds odd, but someone brought it for me for sensory play. They boys loved it. Think you get get them quite cheap on Amazon.

If you still need some ideas:

Rotating is good. I had an ordinary playmat, a water filled one for tummy time, one with a tray they could sit up in (like a bumbo with an attachment that slotted on), a bouncer and a "stationery walker" (they stood in it, but it just rocked in place). We also had rocking chairs in the pitches for when I was cooking. I'D pick half of them and rotate round, then use the other half the next day.

Routine is also good. We had a baby CD (from a baby group my eldest went to) and a bad bad little routine of what a did for each song e.g. it had Row you boat and this little piggy etc so we did the usual actions for that, and then I got the sensory scarce out for a couple.of songs in the middle, then we did tummy time with mirrors for 3 songs, then back to action songs.... it took about 45 mins in total. It may sound quite Labour intensive, but I felt it was a way ir getting really good quality time with them and they LOVED it. Repetition is great for language development too. After a couple of times I didn't have to think about it at all and I kept the toys for it all in one box.

Get out in the fresh air. Going for a walk is great. Do you have a waterproof picnic blanket? I'd take mine out with a box of random toys for them to empty out on the blanket. Another opportunity for tummy time too, they tolerated it better outside sometimes even if they were grumpy. If there's a playground near you we also would go and I found if I rang nursery rhymes they were happy on the swings for a good half hour.

The odd short DVD is ok too! Mine liked Bee Bright.
