Hi all,

So I have twin girls - 9 months. They have always been together when sleeping but recently in their cot they have been climbing over each other etc - they have a large double cot. So tonight we put a divider in and I feel so guilty. They are holding hands through it and look like they are trying to reach each other.

Should I abandon ship and leave them how they were or stick it out?? Obviously the one getting 'rolled on' isn't happy but I don't know if this is making them unhappy either?

What do people think?? Any similar experiences?

I remember feeling like this when we first separated our dts. Ds was distraught, poor thing. Goodness knows why, dd often ends up in my bed and she kicks and fidgets all night! They soon recovered.
Just enjoy the cuteness of them holding hands, they are probably safer than roller on each other too.

When DT’s were six months we moved them out of our room and into separate bedrooms as they were disturbing each other and waking each other up. Both of them and us slept better when we separated them.

Thankyou I'm glad to hear positivity. They are now fast asleep spread out like starfish in their own space. The fact they can still see each other is a bonus it's not like a wall. When they are pulling themselves up they will be face to face anyway 😂😂😂 yes I mentioned about the safety aspect to hubby and also the fact if one of them gets squashed it wakes her up. I do think they will sleep better but they seem a bit unsettled. Change of routine I suppose, they have never known anything different than not being without each other. Amazing really when you think about it

Awww, holding hands through the bars sounds so cute! I don’t think you should feel bad, they still have each other there for comfort and will probably sleep better this way. They’ll adjust soon enough.

Better to do it now than when they are older

Do they do these dividers for kingsize beds? Asking for a friend.Grin

Green tulips haha, we are so tired a chance to be squashed would be nice 😂😂😂

They slept well, kicked up a fuss again tonight but have settled alright. Just got to stick it out

They like to babble to each other and smile at each other and still did that this morning so not too much of an impact but in general they are VERY VERY close. I imagine that to be common with twins of course but they are constantly aware where the other one is in the room and their emotions. They comfort each other as well as fight over toys. It's all fun and games at the end of the day haha
