Car seats for 3 little ones?!

Hi, I have a little boy who has just turned one and I'm expecting twins!! 😬 My little boy will be about 18 months when they arrive. There's so much to think about but the one thing that is really baffling me is how ill manage to get 3 car seats in the back of the car, and strap all 3 babies in?! Has anyone got experience of getting 3 little ones in the back of the car and has anyone got any recommendations about which car seats and cars are best? (We have to buy a new car too!) thanks in advance xxx

the Peugeot rifter is great for 3 kids seats because the seats in the back aren't joined together, and it comes with 3 isofix points in the back. we had the lionelo car seats when they were younger, and I would recommend them. you can find more info about them on the lionelo website because the amazon link attached doesn't include much x

Yep - you need a car with 3 separate back seats (all with isofix) - then pretty much any car seat will fit. There are surprisingly few cars that can do that though. We have a Ford S Max and are happy with it.

In terms of strapping them all in - the set up you need is to put the seat for the eldest in the middle (and keep it in the car, if you can). For the babies, use infant carriers and keep the bases installed in the car, but keep the carriers themselves in the house. Then when you're ready to go out, strap the babies into their carriers in the house. Leave them near the door while you strap your eldest in (the isofix carriers for the bases won't get in the way as you lean across). Then pop the carriers onto the bases. And do it the other way around to unload - so your eldest child (i.e. the one at risk at bolting) is always the first into the car and the last out of it.
