Is anyone able to do this with twins?! Story routine

I have twins after having had a singleton.

My first child used to love sitting down on my knee and we had story time before morning and lunchtime nap and also one before bed. This was established at an early age - as you do when you've got your hands free more!

My twins are nearly a year old and very sporadically have stories read to them. I want to have that experience of reading to them and them also associating it with a lovely nap/bedtime like with my first.

He just used to hear the first few words of one particular book and then start yawning as the routine was so settled.

I try and read to them individually, but then the other gets upset. Or have tried both on my knee which is a nightmare to juggle as I am on my own during the day. Inevitably one sits still and takes up more room so the other gets bored and crawls away.

Is there anyone out there who manages this and if so, how?!?!

It's just the crying I can't take at the moment.

Between the two of them it feels constant.

My twins are 4 now and I have an older one but it took me a long time to realise you don’t need to do everything with them both! I read to one while the other potters then it’s their turn and we swap every one gets a story and a cuddle properly. I’ve always had to do bedtime on my own and it seems to work. The 2 not having the story often played together which was nice and sometimes they would listen for the other story.

Thanks @Randomdogbite that sounds like a good tip

Wow, I've just realised that the 3 stories I read to my eldest every night may not be feasible with my twins!!
