SIL due in 12 weeks, will they turn?

SIL's twins are 'arse down' at the moment, she has about 12 weeks to go. Are they likely to turn, or is she facing a section?

As I said to her, they'll be the same babies, whatever way they come out

ummmmmmmm.....perhaps, is this her first pregnancy?

I have 2 sets of twins-1st set settled down into transverse/breech position so i had c-section. 2nd set were still turning somersaults at 40 weeks (the consultant couldn't believe it!) so i had a c-section at 40 week because of the 'unstable lie' (and no sign of labour)-they were big too at 7lb 12 and 7lb 5!

basically the more pregnancies you have..the more your abdominal muscles stretch and stretch, so if she has had previous pregnancies they could still turn!

Yes, it's her first pregnancy. So you think less likely that they will head down?
She's preparing for either way, but you know the way we all try to predict what'll happen!

Amazing, have two sets!

my twins were head down for a long time. at 36/4 I had a scan and they were both head down. They were born (started spontaneously) 36/6, one had turned in the 2 days before, they were born by c-section. I am small (just over 5'3) was huge and the babies 2660g and 2480g.

They can turn right up to the last moment.

I think they have plenty time to turn.

When my DT2 turned from traverse to breech (I'm sure it was about 34 weeks) I felt him turn, it was very uncomfortable, my tummy went out in all directions like a cartoon and wondered what the hell was happening. He remained breech and I delivered him, vaginally (I hate that word!), that way.

Is she keen not to have a section? If so, I'd suggest lots (at least once a day) of going down on all fours with head to the ground on a cushion and bum in the air Apparently thats a good turning position.

mine were head down and dum down at the 20 week scan - they MUST have moved around in the time after, but were born head down and dum down at 29+1 naturally....
