Several of you have given me and DW (currently hospitalised) good advice over the past few months, so I thought I'd post to say that our twins arrived safely this morning at Chelsea and Westminster.

Both healthy (and with powerful lungs) with weights 5lbs 0oz and 7lbs 15 oz.

Mother and babies both doing well, expected home at the weekend.

Thanks all!

Good for you for restricting visiting times. I sometimes felt like a circus act. I tried to keep some people at a distance and upset people in doing so but I needed the space.

Twins are incredibly cute, cuddled up together and you really get a WOW factor that everyone wants a slice of BUT mother, father, siblings and the babies need space together, alone as well. You can feel very overwhelmed.

Ah....i remember that well - the hordes of vulturous visitors! If they want to wake the babies up to poke them about, do say "NO", very firmly! Pass the baby with twins is a nightmare after the visitors have gone.

Agree that restricting visiting times is a good idea.

The twins will still be there when you feel ready to face the hoardes, but right now, you both need to SLEEP!

However, don;t be worried about accepting every offer of help that comes your way, be it someone to hang oyut the washing, make you some dinner or take the babies out for a walk while you get some shut eye!

Congratulations by the way!!!

The little one is definitely trying to catch up! DT2 was the same and overtook dt1.

I would have no visitors unless they are really coming to help. You especially don't need them in hospital (except for very close family and your dw's bf).

Great that you are going to join us on the d'ya thread!
