We're going on holiday with our twins! Three weeks on an island in Sweden I think... (I always make things easy for myself he he) They'll be nine months old by then.
Wondered if any of you lovely twinny mummies and daddies had any holiday tips? How do you get all the kit for two babies and their parents through the airport weight limits? What about buggies - do they count? Has anyone looked for someone to borrow a pram from when they get there? Anyone taken their childminder with them? How did it work with giving them some time off during the day? What about travel cots - any recommendations? Do I sound anxious? Am I going to need another holiday when I get home? I suspect so....

Have a great holiday.

Buggies should be allowed on the plane as extra allowance; so I expect that 2 babies should equal 2 buggies.

Check with your accommodation to see what equipment can be borrowed or hired at your destination, then you won't have to lug loads of extra stuff around.

I've no experience with childminders I'm afraid but I do know that many hotels can recommend local babysitters if that's any help.

I had no problems getting the pushchair(s) thru allowance, and the first year dts slept on a mattress on the floor of our villa with lots of cushioning so they couldn't fall off. Last year we made sure we got a place with two cots, this year we have hired side rails from our destination. Car seats we've hired from the car rental people. No experience with childminders I'm afraid.

We've had great holidays even with the dts, the only problem was last year with the milk - for some reason it didn't agree with dt2 and we had to go back to formula.

we took our twins on hol at 9 months but we went camping in france, by car, to a ready put up tent - so not quite so challenging as yours! Good luck

I think going camping is mighty adventurous myself! At least we're going to be in a house! Although I understand that the water is all tanked and has to be boiled... but you have to do this for babies anyway! Has anyone experimented with taking two (cheap) single prams?

Ive done it, was easier really pushing one each throughout the holiday (we did a lot of walking), and no problems at the airpot re checking in. The only thing we did do was invest in some buggy connectors for using at the airport so one of us could push both the dts while the other pushed the luggage trolley, otherwise you don't have enough pairs of hands!

fuddle how do u do camping with toddlers that are mobile. I'd lvoe to take ours but I jsut don't know how we would deal with the sleeping bit. Mine would escape or never sleep at all.

sleeping is tricky - at 9 months they were in travel cots so that was ok, the following summer we took our own tent to Arran, it was feezing! We had to buy extra fleeces for them and lie down and snuggle with them to kkep them warm, then we went to france again, travel cots so ok, then last summer we went to Northumberland and they were pretty good, early waking is a problem though...this year we're taking the tent to Weymouth for 10 days we will spend a week or so training them to sleep later before we go I think
