So, I’m 35 weeks with twins. I’ve finished work but have my other two kids every afternoon (they’re in play school each morning). I’ve had a great pregnancy but in the last week or so, I’ve really started feeling it - I’m uncomfortable, I’m tired, I’m not sleeping well. Yesterday evening, I thought I’d gone into labour but I hadn’t - not sure what was going on but I think I just needed a rest. I’m more than likely having a c section on 6 July, as twin 1 has been breech for months.

Ugh. It’s going to be a long couple of weeks!!!

I'm totally with you! No advice I'm afraid but lots of solidarity :) I'm only 29 weeks with twins but it's my last day at work today. Feeling massive, people keep saying I must be about to pop but am aiming for 36-37 weeks so have such a long way to go! Uncomfortable, hot, can't sleep, pelvic girdle pain, and generally feeling a bit fed up with it all now! At least when I've finished work I'll get a couple of days each week to do my own thing (also have a 3yr old but we're keeping him in nursery as normal!) Hang in there, we can do this!

Potplant · 22/06/2018 14:51

I got to 35 with mine, though spent the last week in hospital, on bed rest. I was sooooo ready for them to come. Even with newborn sleep deprivation, I felt better than I did the last few weeks of pregnancy.

I can't imagine having to look after other children at the same time. Hang on in there, it'll soon be over.

BrazzleDazzleDay · 22/06/2018 15:08

I got to 30 weeks with mine and my god that was enough, the ribs and pelvis squash is quite something else. Had lots of lazy days at home with my two older ones in the last couple of weeks.

Take it easy, it will all be over with soon Grin

I only made it to 34+5 with mine. Make the most of some me time before they arrive.

DaenerysismyQueen · 22/06/2018 16:20

Hi, I'm 36 weeks today and beyond fed up. I'm having my section on the 5th so very close to yours! I've got a two year old, but thankfully my parents have stepped in to help as I'm bloody knackered! This is just dreadful and so frustrating!

DaenerysismyQueen · 22/06/2018 16:20

I'm also having twins! Obvs!

FreeButtonBee · 22/06/2018 16:24

just stay in bed all morning and rest. Rest Rest Rest, as much as you can. And eat ice cream. And I went to 38+6 with my twins, so you could be waiting a while!

Reiltin · 23/06/2018 16:57

Thanks for your feedback, everyone. I’m doing my best to rest but it’s hard when there’s stuff needs doing and you know you won’t get a chance when you’re stuck under two feeding babies 24/7! But I’m doing better, which is good 😊

I made it to 36+5 with mine - those last few weeks are horrific! My twin 2 was also breech, so I was looking at a c section (they’d optimistically booked it for 38+2) and the only thing that kept me going was a countdown on my phone where I’d check the days off! Like PPs, I slept better once I’d actually had my babies (I wear a Fitbit so had my sleep tracked!). Hang on in there, you’re nearly done and soon you’ll have your amazing little ones for snuggles 💐

muddiecuddles · 26/06/2018 22:42

Iwantaunicorn
My twin 2 is also breech at the moment. Twin 1 head down. Did you go into labour naturally and did twin 2 turn after twin 1 was delivered?

Iwantaunicorn · 27/06/2018 01:10

I’m sorry muddiecuddles, I ended up getting preeclampsia and had an ELCS (after a night ummming and aaaaahing about whether I’d made the right decision to be induced, I changed my mind in the end!). They kept bandying around some quite high stats of my delivering twin 1 naturally, and having an EMCS for twin 2 (which the last consultant said were incorrect and gave totally different numbers) that I freaked out and decided to just go elective.

Totally understand if you want a vaginal birth, but just throwing it out there in case you’re nervous about a section, my c section was absolutely bloody amazing! How far along are you?

mozzybites · 27/06/2018 02:14

I went to almost 37 weeks, I was up a step ladder drilling holes for mirrors and painting staircases. God knows why, when they arrived I couldn't have told told you what color my staircase was.

DaenerysismyQueen · 27/06/2018 18:18

Are you still hanging on in there? I'm so focused on the c section next week that I keep having to remind myself that they could come at any time!

Reiltin · 01/07/2018 06:10

Yup, hanging in there! Scheduled for a c on Friday. Am in the hospital on 4 different days this week for various appointments Hmm Enjoying the sun. Kinda looking forward to getting it over with at this point! Consultant was concerned last week that I had preeclampsia but it got ruled out, thank goodness. But my feet are huge and the bottom of my legs are also tight so I’m wondering if I’ll have the same thing again on Monday when I see the consultant. Time will tell Grin

The last 3 or 4 weeks I didn't do much more than move from bed to sofa and back to bed again because I was so uncomfortable . I also had a toddler so I am sure I must have been a bit more active than I remember. Dt2 turned breach - I'm pretty sure it started labour - in the last 2 days. Born at 36.6.
Good luck.

SnugglySnerd · 01/07/2018 06:50

I feel for you in this heat. I had an elcs at 37 weeks for my twins but that was in winter. Good luck and try to rest this week.

muddiecuddles · 01/07/2018 22:50

For those who had / are having elective sections - what is the earliest your obstetrician would schedule it for? I'm only 28 weeks and struggling (although still working more or less full time so I hope I'll feel better once I'm off). When I mentioned the option of ELCS to my doctor he looked very Hmmat me but I can't imagine doing this for another 10 weeks! What were the determining factors for you?

SnugglySnerd · 02/07/2018 06:38

I'd had an emcs for my older dc so they wanted me to have an elcs anyway. When I found out it was twins I was happy to agree to it! There were no medical reasons to deliver early though so I was delivered at 37 weeks. I finished work at about 32 weeks I think.

Reiltin · 02/07/2018 16:05

Muddie, I don’t know how early they’d schedule it. The consultant said they do them on the Friday of your 37th week. TBH, I wouldn’t want to be done earlier. The earlier they come, the harder it’s going to be for you and them. I’d focus on relaxing as much as you can.

muddiecuddles · 02/07/2018 17:59

Oh I know, I don't want them to come too early for sure. Just having a moan... hard to see through the next couple of months
