To try for No.3 after Twins or not?!

That is the question!
I go back and forth every second day. One still wakes several times a night and the other sleeps well now, but only in the last few months. They are nearly 2. I don’t want to leave a gap in age bigger than 3 years so it’s either get busy trying in the next few months, or not at all. Most of me would love a no.3 but part of me (the chronically sleep-deprived part) is concerned about how we would manage. DH and I share it all as equally as we can, depending on work etc. Also, part of me thinks the twins would get even less of me if no.3 came to join us!
How did you decide? Would you recommend a No.3? I know you obv wouldn’t send them back once they’ve gotten here, but you know what I mean.... thanks x

I'd have number 3 later.
Most parents of twins I know have a gap of 4-6 years between the twins and no.3. They all seem so happy and relaxed. I think you have to give some thought to the close gap. Is it so important for you?

Did you have a rough idea of how many children you could see yourself with before you had your twins?
This may not help you, but for me it does...
We wanted two children, and we got them unexpectedly straightway with the twins. However, post birth I was very poorly. I never got my skin to skin, didn't breastfeed, and then once we were all home the whirlwind of looking after twins began. Part of me would love to have another baby, but in my heart I know that's because I'd like another chance at having the baby experience again, and for it to go better. I'd also quite like to experience pregnancy again.
But, I know that it's just because it didn't go perfectly for me. I don't actually want another child, I am just longing for missing out on two 'perfect' singleton births.
If I'd had two singletons I don't think having another would even cross my mind, because we'd have our two children.
With a third child we would struggle financially too, and my DH doesn't want any more.
Wishing you all the best, I'm off to cuddle a 5 week old this weekend, I imagine I'll feel broody Smile

We had number 3 when our twins were 25 months old. I'm not a fan of the baby stage, so we thought we might as well go full throttle and get it over with in one fell swoop as we knew we wanted a third. It was a LOT of work when they were all babies and still in nappies, but we survived and now have two four year olds and a two year old, all girls. It's brilliant. They all play together now like a little gang and disappear for hours sometimes.

I really like having all the ages close together as they have a lot of the same interests. It's nice to have our family finished too. Most of our friends who started having children around the same time I got pregnant with the twins are just now having their second or maybe third child, which sort of re-sets the clock on dealing with the baby stage, whereas we've moved on from baby stage things (helllooooo clear-out!) and are now getting to enjoy things like ski holidays with kids clubs! If you think you can survive the initial year or two, I'd say go for it. :)
