My friend has just had twins
Any suggestions beyond the usual gifts for singleton births?

Hello ! Good thread - I have a friend about to have twins too.

babyblooms have a twins option. I have sent these a couple of times for single births and seem to go down quite well.

there is also the no added sugar SN AP t-shirts but can't decide if they are naff or amusing

TheBlonde · 24/04/2007 19:26

Hi Wheelybug!

The SN AP is tempting - I know she doesn't what them in matching outfits

Oh now, someone on here in the multiples clan had a fantastic food delivery thing, it was posh pies if I remember correctly I'll ask around on our daily thread and see....... (healthy, ready made food is a big attraction since there is no time to eat, shop or cook anything.

Organise a meals rota. Or cook up a load for her freezer. Then buy her a hamper full of goodies for herself!

Best pressie I has was a meals rota. Once a week (though it turned out to be more) I didn't have to worry about cooking for the family. Saved my sanity!!!

Meals rota is a nice idea but they have moved out of the city and I'm still in the city (with a month old baby)

I don't have twins but I hate the SN AP thing. I think it's quite amusing but I wouldn't ever put my children in them. But then I'm very fussy

MarsLady · 24/04/2007 21:04

Will give it more thought then.............. though I still think a hamper full of pampering goodies for mum is great! Just to remind her she's not just a milk machine for two!

Of course if you have a decent amount to spend you could always get her a Postnatal doula

One of OH's clients bought us some Sophie Conran pies. They were absolutely delish and went from freezer to oven to eating in 30 mins. Also possible to eat one-handed which was what we both did for several weeks after our DTs were born . I thought you could get them on-line and have them delivered, but I can't find a site at the moment - will keep trying for you.

These personalised dummies are quite useful for twins - I never knew which dummy belonged to which baby.

Or something lux for Mum to look forward to - like a massage voucher at a nice spa.

Someone also sent us a basket of cakes which was fab, it helped with energy and moral at a fairly low point!

I received a babyblooms bouquet which looked lovely but it took about a day to unwrap all the items. When you bring twins home you don't really have time to spend a day twiddling little bits of wire off tiny babygros - it did my head in! I nearly threw the whole thing in the bin but I was a bit of a hormonal wreck at the time

I was also given the SNAP tops but we only wore them a couple of times - noone can tell your babies apart.

A couple of Baby Feed Wheels from Chiggs . There's blue for a boy, pink for a girl, and yellow if she has 2 the same! Also has "to" and "from" on the back to personalise.

Might be a bit late, but could you try to collect some of those double clothes hangars like when you buy a twin set of t shirts in Asda? I always thought it would be handy to have lots of those with the same tops on, in different colours
