just realised that no-one will read this message anyway as it is nearly a month since the last one !!!

Hi dolly1972..i read your message!! (obviously...lol)

I have seen them t-shirts they are very good!

When my twin boys were younger they had t-shirts bought from mothercare saying.....'it wasn't me it was him' with an arrow pointing at the other child/twin...had to make sure i put them the right way in the double buggy...there were a few like that about..they did make people giggle..lol

I've read it now too!

I've got the SN AP! shirts for my boys and they are soooo cute! I don't dress them in identical clothes, but they're always in something similar - jeans and t-shirt, dungarees of different colours, etc, purely because it means I don't have to engage brain when I'm nappy changing for the second baby. It also looks quite cute! My babes aren't identical, so having them in similar outfits kind of twinnifies them a bit in a crowd...

Love the sound of the Dr Seuss tops. Might have to go look ...

I've read it very sweet, my SIL dresses her different aged daughters identically most of the time, don't dress my different aged dcs the same and people keep asking me if they are twins (don't look the same and quite different heights!!!!)

MrsApron · 15/04/2007 21:34

Not a twin mummy but I was really confused by the Sn AP t shirts wondering why someone would want to put Special Needs or Attachment Parenting on their child.

1dilemma · 15/04/2007 21:36

ho ho ho

Twinmummyx2 · 16/04/2007 09:22

MrsApron...eh? don't get what you mean...?

Isn't it just a bit of a giigle thing...SN AP..as in the card game...and being twins.....

am i being dozey...? that was my first thought and chuckle anyway....

I've recently had a lecture from MIL about how I'll damage my twins psychologically if I dress them the same

Dh would rather not, but I don't see the harm unless it's an obsession, and it can look sweet, and makes life easier.

I think if I treated them as one child, or forced them to wear the same things until they were 12, that I might do some damage. But to put two tiny babies in matching outfits (of which i'm sure we'll get given loads), I think should be fine.

Am preparing myself for being accosted in the street by strange women of MILs way of thinking who will accuse me of being a bad mother too

I don't think that clothes make any difference. My two still get themsleves muddled up even though they are rarely dressed the same now. they both call each other shay or ashay (akshay) and they want the same of everything. Get very cross if they don't both have the same number of items on.
I really think the novely of buying matching outfits wears off as they get older too, and you will want to buy stuff to reflect their personaility.

Ignore your daft old MIL, how many twins has she raised?

Overrun · 16/04/2007 12:19

I try to dress mine differently, they are not identical, but do look quite similar (well, according to all the strangers who tell me this ) But I do tend to dress them similarly, both in jeans, and either completely differnet t shirts, or the same design different colours. I do find myself doing ridiculous things like if one seems to hot, taking their cardigan off, and then the other one looks odd, so I take that one off as well

throckenholt · 16/04/2007 12:31

I don't dress mine the same - and even if I did it probably would not last long - they would either make them dirty somehow requiring new clothes, or just change them for something they preferred (amazing how kids can get a complete change of clothes on their own, including shoes, but can't get dressed at all when I am within sight !).

TwoIfBySea · 16/04/2007 13:40

I have found as they get older sometimes I dress dts (5) the same simply because they want the same t-shirt and there aren't always the choice of colours (same t-shirt, different colours combo!) Whenever we go to play areas I tend to dress them alike and in bright t-shirts so I can spot them immediately.

But I don't dress them completely identically.
