Hi,
Wasn`t it fascinating? That bit when one hits the other in the womb and the other goes away and puts its head down, well that happens here between the two boys, not so much with Rebecca. Also fascinated with the mirror image twin thing about left handers, to think there could have been two of me! Wonderful programme, I learnt alot!

PinkTulips · 16/02/2007 23:35

my womb twanged from begining to end. absolutely gorgeous shots.

(i had a bit of a wierd moment at the triplets though as i felt so sorry for the non identical one...... won't he always be a bit left out? dunno why i went all goopy and sad about that but i did!)

triplets · 16/02/2007 23:40

Mmmm, that a thought, though in my threes case James should definitely have been an only child and I know would actually have loved to have been one. Likes his own space, his own clothes, just always seemd different!

PinkTulips · 16/02/2007 23:52

awww, that makes me feel alot better.

i know it's mad as i have no personal experiance (i'm an only child so not even a sibling relationship to compare it to!) but seeing that baby all alone in his seperate sack i went all irrational and thought he looked lonely i blame hormones!

fair deuce to you btw..... how old are your triplets (am fighting the urge to say something totally pointless like 'you must have you hands full' )

triplets · 16/02/2007 23:55

Hi,
They were 9 on the 27th Jan, and yes I have my hands full, it is harder now than ever! What have you got?

PinkTulips · 17/02/2007 00:01

a 2 year old girl and a 6 month old boy.... no multiples for me thankfully. i don't think i'm the type of person who could cope tbh! i barely manage one at a time without having a nervous breakdown!

triplets · 17/02/2007 00:04

It does have its advantages, like they all start school together, no getting baby fed, toddler dressed, one into uniform and get to school by 9am! The also always have each other to play games with at the same level, but boy do they argue!

PinkTulips · 17/02/2007 00:07

i can imagine!

the baby stage must be so exhausting though, there's little enough time to sleep with a singleton, how do you do it with 3?

Marscentio · 17/02/2007 00:10

I can't wait to watch it. PinkTulips... I stand in awe of Triplets. We all do on the multiples thread

And so to bed............... nighty night! [yawn]

PinkTulips · 17/02/2007 00:14

bed sounds like a good idea mars!

triplets.... wow! that's all i can say! it was nice to talk to you, i hope i haven't annoyed you by asking questions you've probably answered 20 million times in the last 9 years

night all

triplets · 17/02/2007 00:28

night night too!

speedymama · 19/02/2007 09:24

DH and I watched this and we felt so blessed to be the parents of our twin boys. It was a wonderful programme and so informative. One of the facts that I found fascinating was that you can have identical b/g twins! Also, that triplets can arise from the sperm of two different men!

Television at its best!

Marscentio · 19/02/2007 09:37

Now you see when I mentioned that it was possible to have id b/g twins everyone told me it was nonsense. My consultant told me it was possible and so now I feel vindicated! Ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!

PinkTulips · 19/02/2007 13:42

[wow] i did not know that! (missed the first part of the programme) how? isn't their dna identical? so how can they be b/g?

frumpygrumpy · 19/02/2007 13:55

Loved this. My god though, it took me 6 months to stop walking in and getting a fright and, after holding my breath for a minute, saying "there's TWO". Can't imagine how the mum of the QUADS felt .

She must have had pelvic/tummy muscles like those big strong lycra cycling pants.

fannyannie · 19/02/2007 13:58

PT - I didn't see all the programme - had to go to work - apparently it can happen if the XY splits into two by going XX an XY (or something like that) basically when the egg splits sometimes the girl/boy DNA whatsit gets split too,

Marscentio · 19/02/2007 13:59

FG........ I know what you mean! lol

That's why I always bow when triplets comes online! Nothing but respect!

PinkTulips · 19/02/2007 14:06

lol.... that explains something then.

when i was very little in my kindergarten there was a pair of b/g twins that at the time i thought were id but when i was older and learned about dna i thought i must have been wrong and they were fraternal that just looked extremely similar. guess they could have been though

throckenholt · 19/02/2007 14:09

the boy/girl id bit was something like a very unusual fertilised egg that is xxy that then splits and one bit loses the y so you get and xx and an xy. I have to say it sounds very very rare - how common is it to get xxy to start with ? - how does one bit lose the y chromosome ?

zephyrcat · 19/02/2007 14:10

I missed this and wish I'd seen it now! Does anyone have it recorded or know if it's repeated?

sandyballs · 19/02/2007 14:19

I'd love to have seen this. My non-ID girls are 6 next week and I'm feeling all nostalgic for their baby days. I'd like to go back and do it all again. I've obviously mentally blanked out the bad bits and the exhaustion .

BibiThree · 26/02/2007 21:00

Does anyone know if this is going to be repeated??? I can't believe I missed it!

Thanks
