hi everyone,

would love you advice on buggies for twins from birth. we are looking at the following, but all have their pros and cons! we would like a side by side which takes car seats and can do multi terrain basically!!

bugaboo donkey
pros: looks great, does everything we need it to, has carrycots, front and rear facing etc
cons - expensive, huge, won't fit through a doorway with carseats, the reviews I've read say seats are extra small and most outgrow them by 18 months

mountain buggy duet
pros - fits through a doorway, takes car seats, great for off-road
cons - seems fiddly (laying seats flat etc needs straps loosened/tightened, seats are narrow (some reviews say their kids can't sit in the seat with their arms by their sides!)

Bumbleride Indie twin
pros - seems to do everything we want it to!
cons - hardly anyone in the UK has one so hard to read reviews as the US version is different to the UK!!

the only tandem we might consider is the babyjogger city select, any feedback?

basically I want to be able to be out and about after I've had my twins as soon as I can, in the car, walking the dogs, shopping etc. If only I could borrow a set of twins and each buggy for a week to see how I get on!! Wink xx

Hello!

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing out double buggies. Read our double buggy reviews for a list of the best products on the market, including the best double buggy for twins.

Hope this helps! Flowers

I'm totally confused by tandem buggies. All the ones I see have one seat from birth but the other only suitable from six months. Any tandems with both suitable from birth? I'm aiming for not too expensive...

Guy - most have options for x2 newborns.

Look at what you need it for. Do you need it small, or off-road. Will it need to fit in car.
Do you actually need a twin pram or would small single and sling be better ( can use x2 singles when out with partner).

The mountain buggy duet has good reviews. Side by side, fits through single doorway. Suitable from birth without carrycots if you like

I thought the mountain duet did need carry cots from birth. It is also huge when folded so if you need it to go in a car you might want to check it fits in your boot.

I really can't recommend enough going to somewhere like john Lewis where you can see and try a lot if the different styles in person. Some of the side by sides aren't as wide as you think they'll be and similarly some of the tandems are a doddle to navigate but you'll also find some side by sides are too big for what you want and some tandems are very long. It really does depend on how you are going to use it, whether you want car seats to go in it/need it to go in a boot, how important it is for you to have the babies facing you, your budget. My DH found the JL session really useful to see everything in person

2015 - the the seats lay flat so no need for carrycots unless you want. Can just add sheepskin liner to make more cosy if you like. It does fold big, but many rarely fold so it's great when not

Artandco-sorry had a complete baby brain moment. My bad! You're totally right about the carry cots-think we were shown them as an added extra if we wanted them. I now live outside of London so need any buggy to go in the car. If I was still living in London then I agree the size when folded is less of an issue.

2015 - true. Maybe look at the baby jogger gt if you want smaller folding but with decent sized wheels still
