Suitable buggy for 3

This is my first time on mumsnet. so here it goes.
Does anyone know of a good buggy for 3?
The thing is that I am currently pregnant with twins I also have a daughter who will be coming up to 2 when they are born.
I need something where she is not next to the babies as I am worried about her getting a bit over excited with them and hurting them.
She can walk but it is just not practicle all the time because when she out she just doesn't go where I want her to, so a buggy board is not really the right thing for this situation as she still need somewhere to have a nap if it is a long day.

If any one knows of a good buggy or any help for this problem please help.
Thanks

Hi 1b3, and welcome!

I didn't use a buggy for three as my dd was 3 when the DTs came and I put her plus one twin in the double buggy and the other baby in a sling. Then, as she got older we would take short walks and put the babies in the buggy. I imagine it will get really heavy!! There are quite a lot of regulars on this thread so I'm bumping this for you and hope you get better help soon.....

When are you due? We mums of twins and more (triplets yikes!!) have a regular thread thats titled "D'y ever wonder....."and we are on it most days. Do pop in there anytime, everyone is welcome and they are a lovely bunch (we have a set of twins due any day!!). Hope to see you there....

There is a 3-wheel double buggy which can have the single front wheel replaced with a wider double wheel, and then a toddler seat can be fitted on top of the double wheels. I've seen a few around and apparently they handle quite well. Unfortunately I can't remember the make!

Thanks for your help, and prettycandles if you see one of those buggys around or the name comes back to you please let me know, sound just like what I need

Have you looked at 2became4.com? (Maybe .co.uk) They've got a 3 side by side buggy - don't know how good it is, just remember seeing it when I was poking around on there. May be somewhere to start?

I think Prettycandles is thinking of the double buggy by the Adventure Buggy Company here

Worth searching for them on ebay - they do come up from time to time.

No, not that one. The seat is mounted in front of the twin seats, not behind, and the double wheels can be replaced by the single wheel when the toddler seat is no longer needed. It's a very 'industrial' looking buggy. How annoying when something is on the tip of your tongue!

I have exactly the same set up. DD was nearly two when twins were born.

It took so long to work out what to do and I waited until they were about a month then realised I needed something that could take them all if I wanted to get out at all and got the Adventure Buggy Company one with a toddler seat.

It is very expensive but works OK, fits in car and not too much trouble to put up and down. DD is fine on the seat (age 2 now) but she is quite small.

I don't think it will last very long as it is SO heavy, but quite easy to push at same time.

I do feel ridiculous pushing it around - every other person says "ooh that will keep you fit" or "you need a motor!". I smile grimly and trudge on.

Oh . . . I could go on for a long time about the little niggly things but I will stop now!

Are you thinking about the Valco something PrettyCandles?

1becomes3 · 09/10/2006 19:16

I have been reading some of the other threads and have now realised that having twins means that I am due for alot of "intresting" comments.
Ardvarktwo if there is any other useful help or tips that you can give me as it seems that I will be in a similar situation as you were, please I am sure I am gonna need all the help I can get.

I also find myself in a similar situation. I'm due twins in Dec and DD will be 27mths then. She's not much of a walker especially if it's windy or wet. Doubt a buggy board would suit as I also have ds who'll be 4 in feb to hold onto.
I have an E3 but don't know if I can manage a sling for one as I suffer from SPD so not supposed to lift/carry.
