From the being a twin perspective, it's definitely having a perfect spare kidney should I ever be in need of one... Grin

flossieflower · 22/09/2014 15:01

That they always have their best friend right here with them, who is always into exactly the same things as them so they are never bored or lonely.

As a scientist I also like having my very own nature vs nurture longitudinal study!

GoldfishSpy · 22/09/2014 15:02

Only 1 birthday party!

micah · 22/09/2014 15:04

That's only if you're identical though yoghurt. Won't apply to fraternal twins.

Remember you could probably get a bit of liver if you needed as well ;)

MerryMarigold · 22/09/2014 15:07

I have to play make believe all the time. Dd is into it, and ds most definitely isn't!

PotOfYoghurt · 22/09/2014 15:11

A bit of liver?! Excellent! I'll let DTwin know it's on my Christmas list!

Doublethecuddles · 22/09/2014 19:04

Live in playmate. When you go somewhere you always have somebody you know with you.

heritagewarrior · 22/09/2014 19:07

Instant family - just add milk!

vestandknickers · 22/09/2014 19:12

The bond they have with each. Never stops making me smile.

neversleepagain · 23/09/2014 20:10

You only have to be pregnant once!

BearFeet · 24/09/2014 09:19

Just listening to my two playing doctors and nurses (3 and a half). It's just so sweet Smile

Still early days for us but having 2 smiley faces first thing in the morning, 2 lots of cuddles makes even the worst days so much better.

When you are v tired during the first few months trips to the supermarket are a real boost (are they twins? Are they identical? Do they sleep together? They are gorgeous! Questions that you have to laugh at they are so repetitive). Then you can have fun counting the number of times you hear; Double trouble?! You've got your hands full!? Did u have a vaginal birth??(yep, have been asked this 3 times!) Twins in the family? My great grandmother knew someone who had twins etc etc. Usually people just being kind and although this is sometimes tiny bit annoying it secretly makes me burst with pride x

BearFeet · 25/09/2014 06:53

I loved all the comments and chatting to strangers too when they were tiny. I know not everyone feels that way though so I'm always a bit weary to stop new mums with twins.

Also a scientist flossie. People look at me very oddly when I refer to my control specimen Grin.

My current favourite is only having one set of pick ups to deal with. No juggling of two different schools, schools/nursery etc.

It was having the other twin push them on a swing. I'm very lazy.

Linguaphile · 25/09/2014 12:32

I love the fact that it's never hard to meet new mums at play groups. I feel like I've made tons of new friends since having the babies because everyone is curious about what life is like with twins and wants to chat! They're a fantastic social icebreaker, especially in those awkward early months when you're going to loads of new groups and don't know anyone.

Also, mine have just started playing together, and it's brilliant. Instant playmate.

MyballsareSandy · 25/09/2014 13:23

Lots of best things, twins are great, but as they get older you get to spend more time with your DH/DP as they quite often do things together, compared to other siblings.

For instance, my two went off to brownie camps together, school residentials, and now guide trips (for a whole week!!), meaning me and DH have child free hols occasionally.

chutneypig · 25/09/2014 21:30

Good point myballs. I was so disappointed their school has cancelled the residential trip this year. I'm waiting for my cunning plan of enrolling them both for beavers to bear fruit with cub camp. DD has mentioned brownies but I've redirected her every time!
