Not the long kind with 3 seats together and something that could do from birth?

You get one that is a double with a third seat on top.

3, one behind the other.

3, next to each other.

They're the only type I've seen.

The 3 triplet mum's I know have the ACB triple buggy.

BirdhouseInYourSoul · 10/07/2014 20:32

A friend had that one and found it very difficult to push - especially when they got heavier.

She mostly used a double and a sling or a double and a willing pair of hands to push the third in a single.

I have seen the ABC triple out and about and it looks pretty easy to push.

HappyAsASandboy · 10/07/2014 20:41

I think the peg perago one would be very hard to steer and take up curbs. I have a double that is very similar, and once my twins were a year or so it became very difficult to use.

I have heard great things about the ABC buggies. If you can find/afford one, I'd go for that. Otherwise get a double with large carrycots (the Britax B-Dual for example) and you'll fit two of the triplets in one carrycot for a while? Would you consider second hand to keep the costs down while you experiment with what works for you?

I think one in front of the other ones are very hard to push and steer.

I'd go for a double with one on the top because when they're little you can sling/put two in one section and once they get to about 18 months you can just use the double and switch the one who is walking/on the buggy board. Plus if you're out with someone else you can out one of them in a single and just use the double. It offers much more flexibility imo.

The only problem is if you're very short and can't see over the top.

Thanks for the replies, I wasn't too keen on the look of the ABC one and also I'm short! Time to get the thinking cap on again.

I'm expecting twins in Oct and my ds will be 15 months, I got a T3 Jogger as I thought I wouldn't see where I was going with the ABC Grin

201418 · 14/07/2014 15:53

Congrats! I'm not sure if I've looked at the t3, will have a look.

Hi 201418, I've had the Peg perego triple myself for when my 3 were newborns and I actually really liked it. To be honest I'm not very keen on how the buggy looks at all, looks quite 'cheap' if you know what I mean (despite being crazy expensive!), but it was the only triple that really worked for us with newborns? We loved the Mountain Buggy double, as we had a double carrycot and all 3 would fit in the one carrycot whilst they were small, and it was absolutely brilliant for days out to the beach/woods (where the PP wasn't so great). But it didn't last us long, and although the Mountain buggy triple was brilliant, you just cannot use a triple side-by-side to even go to the supermarket... it's far too wide and really not suitable for day to day stuff. Yes the PP felt like you were trying to push the Titanic, but the steering isn't as bad as people would imagine as it has a steering wheel which controls the front wheels. So although it can't turn on a sixpence (like you would with a 3 wheeler), the steering wasn't a major problem? I wouldn't be impressed if a single buggy had that kind of steering, but I guess you have to make exceptions for a huge triple?!

The Primo Viaggio carseats aren't bad seats, and do work brilliantly with the buggy - really handy especially if you have the isofix base. The buggy itself folds super easily - you can have your buggy out the car, popped up and have all 3 carseats clipped on within a minute or so. And really, that was our main reason for the buggy - I wouldn't use the carseats instead of the main buggy seats, but it was invaluable for things like the school run or popping out to the shops when you just need to nip in and out of the car for 10 minutes or so.
We went on to get the ABC triple which I absolutely loved, but the PP was equally as brilliant, just in different ways :)

I know mums of triplets who have used the mountain buggy duo and put all three in the twin bassinet for the first 6 months. After that they sling one and push the other two.

RedundantExpat · 05/08/2014 18:14

Mine fit into a swedish twin pram for a while. Then I progressed to two in the pram and one in the baby bjorn, then took the brilliant valco run about/around with the toddler seat.
