Why did you opt for c section?

Other than medical reasons I mean, I'm especially interested if you chose this option even if you had other children to care for when you get home.

I'm asking because I was quite surprised the other day when both dh & mother said they think I would be better having a cs. I understand why dh thinks this as with previous two large ours our boys got 'stuck' at the last moment and ended up being ventouse, this makes him uneasy as he used to date a girl who was a twin and her brother had disabilities because she'd been first out and he'd been deprived of oxygen. No idea why my mum thinks this as I'll have a toddler to run round after, think she is just worried as first labour was quite traumatic with a long recovery.

Both of mine were head down so we went for a natural delivery. Twin 2 flipped to breech after twin 1 was born despite midwives attempts to stop this from happening. Gave birth to twin 2 naturally too even though she was breech and was relieved to have avoided the c section.

I also had an EMCS after a 33.5 hour labour with two head-down twins at 38 weeks. Twin A turned sunny side up at the beginning of what then became the world's longest back labour, and she got stuck in the birth canal... they tried everything from assisted delivery (no joy--you can't attach a ventouse cup or use forceps if their face is what's presenting first) to manual turning (not pretty) before having to rush me in.

At the beginning of labour, the doctor hinted that a c-section might be the way to go, but I really wanted a natural labour, so we pressed on. As a result, Twin A came out quite battered with a really bruised and swollen face, whereas she'd have been fine if I'd just had a section (not to mention it would have been much less draining and traumatic for everyone involved). Given another chance, I'd definitely do an ELCS.

The presenting twin was transverse. I can't give birth to a baby sideways on.

I also had pre-eclampsia/HELLP so timing was of the essence.
