Does anyone know where you can rent one of these? Apparently you can get huge very efficient ones, but to buy cost a fortune..

I rented mine from the maternity ward - have you checked whether your hospital hire them out? Think it was about £35 a month plus the bits that go on your boobs, but I was given those as I'd been expressing in hospital as the babies were in SCBU.

Thanks-are they really quick? For example, how long does it take to express a feed? My twins are 12 days old

I rented direct from medals 30 a month. You should only pump twenty mins at a time I was told.

I just bought one as rental costs ended up being quite expensive! I got an Ameda Lactaline double pump for about £75 on Amazon. It did the job brilliantly; better, in fact, than the massive fancy one I used at the hospital. The big thing that made a difference, though, was the hands-free pumping bra I got. So much easier to relax and have a good letdown when I wasn't worriedly holding the cups and (for lack of anything better to do) watching every little drop come out.

It was the Medela one and the midwife told me they cost a few thousand quid new.

In 15 mins I could fill the Medela bottles from each side.

I had a Medela Swing as well but I only used it when the rented one packed in temporarily.

I rented the Medela ones- same as from the ward at hospital.

Don't bother buying, its a short-term use thing, and for expressing for twins the manual or cheaper electrical pumps are worthless.

It was great. Staff were really helpful over phone and I recommend it. But really, get whichever one you start off with at hospital. If you switch you wont get the hang of the new one
