When to have more after twins?

So, DH and I had a pregnancy scare a few weeks ago (3 months post-partum with our twins--eek!!!), and it got me to thinking... When is the ideal time to have more kids after twins? We know we want more, but would it be better to keep them close together so that they all feel close, or give ourselves more of a gap so that the house isn't total pandemonium?

Very personal choice OP - we started with twins and then followed with two more. We had 4 children under 5.

It was tough financially and practically but it was what we wanted. They are all terns now

I think a 2.5 to 3 yr gap is great. I have 5, twins were number 3&4. First 4 were close in age and it is much easier as they play together.

Again personal choice. We wanted small age gaps. We wanted to wait 'til twins (DC3&4) were 6mo old before trying and to our surprise another twin PG! This time we're giving my body a rest and trying again closer to the youngest twins' first b.day :) I have 6DC 5yr & younger.

Twins were 4 when Number 3 arrived. Wanted a smaller age gap but for us, it worked our perfectly. I was on maternity leave for the whole of their 1st year at school and newborn baby was easy to fit into school routine. Made school a very easy transition for them, I was a school ground mum for a year, made a ton of mum friends that I've maintained since. Lots of playdates etc.

My twins were 3 when the next one arrived. I found it the perfect age gap - they were toilet trained, out of a pushchair, at pre-school, that bit more independent.
