Twins, with different birthdays, do you know any?

I know lots of twins with the same birthday.
I think it would be great if they had separate birthdays, born before and after midnight.
Do you know any? wonder how rare it is?

My twin was delivered at 11.53pm and I arrived at 11.55pm, so very close!:)

My grandma and my great aunt were twins born either side of midnight. My great aunt never let my gran forget she was a day younger!

Honky, I'm always amazed at people that don't know they're pregnant but triplets? Really?

There are lots of shared birthdays in my family, my brothers, that I mentioned upthread. My nan and (her son) my uncle, my two cousins (brothers), my sister and my aunt.

A few years ago there was an article in the paper about a family with twins who were born one day apart but on 30th August and 1st September and they were fighting the LEA to allow them to go into the sane school year as the LEA wanted to split them!

My twin cousins have different birthdays, but just for an added twist, they are 28th and 29th February.

I suppose that made it easier with parties, they had to share them 3 years out of 4 anyway!

Really interested to hear about the twins either side of 1st September. I'm now booked for an ELCS on 29th August but wondered what would happen!

There was a story in the daily fail
recently about twins that were born 12 weeks apart. The first twin was very premature and then labour stopped and the mother was able to carry the second twin to more or less term before being induced. Amazing.

I've read in the paper about twins being placed in different school years in the past.

There are loads of siblings born in the same school year who are not twins,

I know only one set who have different birthdays. They are about 5. One born just before and one just after midnight.

There were some twins born a few years ago locally that were on the news because they were born before and after midnight - 31 August and 1st September. Which means that although they were only minutes/hours (can't remember!) they would have ended up in different school years.

gulp - imagine the complications that would cause! Although I bet the psychologists would love it as it would provide a great naturally-occurring case study, of identical twins being brought up in pretty much identical conditions apart from starting school a year apart.

Apparently the school thing was one of the first things one of the nurses said to her - just what you want to worry about in your first few minutes after giving birth to twins!!!

The newspapers got hold of the story and that led to them asking the local council what they would do - think the council came back and said that as it was such a unique case they would look at the case on its own merits when the time came...

Don't think they would be old enough to have started school yet - haven't ever seen any follow up on the news.

Amazing what trivial bits of news stick with you years down the line and yet the important things I do want to remember - don't!

My friend has twins born naturally at 11.56 pm and 12.20 am :D I have a set of "irish twins" 11 months apart and ds 2 aged 11 shares his birthday with dd aged 2. Five kids 4 of whose birthdays are all in an 8 week period. Family planning is not my strong point.

I don't know them as such, but in the city I live in, twins were born either side of midnight on 31st December 1999/1st January 2000. Different days, different years, different millenniums!

A lady on my multiples antenatal thread had hers on different days.

Mine were a grand total of one minute apart, so no danger!

There was a set off twins born not only days apart, but in different counties, from the island of Scarp, in the Western Isles. Mother was shipped off to Stornoway or Inverness, can't remember which, after the first was born and she was in difficulties. In 1920s or so. Think you can google it, but not able to where I am!

I nearly did, t1 at 11:36 t2 at 11:52pm. Was clock watching and pushing like mad! I think it would be pain and also probably cause arguments over them feeling fairly treated.

Did anyone watch the meet the multples documentary, where a family had twins and triplets in the same school year.
The Mum didn't even know she was pregnant with triplets till she went in to labour

I have a close friend whose twins were born two months apart.
DT1 was born prem but they managed to keep DT2 in until term.
They are now four and you can't tell the difference between them.

I know a set of twins born just before and just after midnight. They are 3 and so far have had 2 celebrations for their birthdays. My dc3 is due on dc2s birthday so we could potentially have 2 born on the same day, although I hope this doesn't happen.

I have cousins born in different years :) 1/4 to midnite and 10 past :) they must be in their 50's now :)

I heard of someone who had twins weeks apart, too! Same thing - premature labour, one twin delivered and then the other twin managed to hang on a bit longer.
