advice on co-sleeper bed for twins

Hi all,

I like the idea of co sleeper beds (think that's what they're called - cots that have three sides and you attach to the side of your bed) for when my twins are born.

I have a couple of friends who have used this kind of cot with their newborns instead of a moses basket and all said it was really great for them. None of these people had twins though!!!

You can buy one for twins but it seems quite small to me - what do you think? would they be a bit squashed? Difficult to know as i don't have the babies yet! I think they look a bit squashed on the picture.

measurements are 94cm long and 51 wide.

It is expensive here but i could get it much cheaper in france, where i live.

Alternatively, it is possible to buy cots from ikea that have one side that you can take off, then DP says he can alter the height to our bed and attach it. This would be bigger.

Any opinions greatly appreciated.

Hi Nancy54, we just bought an ikea cot that has the option of taking one side down, it was about 100 euros in italy can't do links on phone but its called sundvik.

Good luck with your pregnancy!

thanks claire. Are you gonna alter the height of it so you can have it next to your bed?

How lovely that you live in modena btw! i lived in ferrara for a year - it's a lovely region. Hope you weren't badly affected by the earthquake.

Hi Nancy54,

I actually had them in moses baskets and recently moved them to cots.
For us its more of a future use, but mainly I just liked the look of it!

Sorry I can't help

Thanks for asking about the earthquake, our area was not directly affected, but we know people who have been and we felt it v clearly. It was scary!

It's very hot and humid here at the moment and would a bit of english rain for respite!

We got one of these which I used with my DD however I've just found out I'm expecting twins, so will be using it again for them. It's bigger than the baby bay things you have linked to, I think however it was about £200 when we bought it last year. Hope the link helps.

hey thanks look at her go. We're gonna have a look at the ikea beds that have a removable side and see if we can use that. We'll see!
