we have 17 week old twin girls. we moved them into their cot bed about 2 weeks ago as they were running out of room in their Moses basket but in the last week the alarm has gone off on the angelcare monitor for one of the twins 3 times in the last week. She has been fine each time but has moved horizontally she is a bit of a wriggler I am worried sick about why it could be happening she is a happy, healthy 17lb3 baby. We have a bit of plywood underneath and never had any problem when she was in her Moses basket. Has anyone else had this problem?

It is annoying BUT aren't you glad that you know it works. DD has been in her cot bed for almost 3 months now and it went off last night for the first time in the cot bed, you know the scary alarm after the two beeps, it was that one, at 00:20 and man alive did we jump out of bed...she was kicking her legs and giggling...! I did read once that babies can just forget to breathe sometimes, I've wondered if perhaps the monitor going off gives them the jump to remind them to breath!

We had a angelcare monitor, went off at the wriggler stage a lot! I think its just them moving off it...

We had it do that a lot when DS got bigger and started sleeping on his side at the edge of the cot mattress, but DH adjusted the sensitivity and it got better.

Assuming they're in separate cots? If so, try switching the pads over and see if it still happens - it could be that the unit is over/under sensitive or poss faulty, otherwise you'll know that your DD is just a wriggler and it'll keep happening!

Tbh I struggled to let go of the sensor pad, DH was even worse, we'd got so used to checking the little pendulum was moving. Eventually disconnected it when DS was 10mo and the damn thing was going off every other night (DS wriggling to very end of cot), but I wish we'd stopped using it earlier, it made me feel paranoid.

Hope it gets sorted soon - the adrenalin rush every time it goes off is not good for you!
