Theres a thread here, far more interesting Im sure!, asking people to tell of the daft things people have said about their twins. Just thought it would be nice if people could post a few of the things they like hearing. Eg I LOVE to overhear the lady in the lift, in response to her daughters question of 'why two babies?' say 'cos shes an amazing mum'. Swell with pride.

Crack on guys....

Someone I really respect said "Your boys are a credit to you and DH"

(glad he hasn't seen them at their worst - 2 1/2 and full of mischief)

It's quite nice to hear the "I don't know how you do it" comments, but at the same time I always think, it's not like I have a choice, is it?! I tend to answer with, "I don't know how I do it, either!" Grin

Somebody here said that old ladies exist in life at the moment to say nice things about my boys - anything along the lines of 'ooh how lovely/aren't they beautiful/you're so lucky/make the most of them' helps my day if I'm feeling a bit beleagured. It also reminds me how much I wanted children before they were born and remember to be grateful.

Its rare to go for a walk/to the shops/to baby group etc and not get a comment or smile.

The nicest comments have been from women whose twins are grown up. They say ALL the right things and I am in awe of how anyone coped with twins without online shopping, isofix bases and automatic washing machines.

Lemele - I often respond to the 'I don't know how you do it?' comments 'Sometimes, I don't!' Grin

We met a really lovely couple in Ikea the other day who also had twins and a toddler. It was nice to have that immediate connection. They said "we wrote off the first year" which makes me feel better about the number of days I am still finding a struggle at 9 mths.
