Hi can anyone advise from their experiences? just returned home from hospital after having bleed on Saturday night - It came from no where, I was in no pain, but it was bright red, enough to cover four wipes of tissues! A couple more wipes on a tissue in hospital, one clot and it statred to stop. I have been monitored and they can find no reason for it, both babies are fine and moving and have had the steriod injection, I am also fine no high blood pressure etc.and I do not have a low lyng placenta, mine is the one beginning with A which is at the front. Allowed home due to no more fresh just brown, although it is still coming, in drips and drabs. Now at home I feel as though on the odd occassion I am having mild odd period pains and think it may be starting up again although last wipe was reddish mucus, not loads mind you! I would just appreciate a chat as a perfect twin pregnancy with no problem has just turned into the biggest worry of my life and I feel as though I have got to spend the next ten weeks in bed altough no one has told me to do so, If of course I get that far, which I have convinced myself I wont! I have had a lot of tears Help! Thanks.x

Hi, not a twin pg but i bled lots on dd2, 28 weeks, 32 weeks and 36 weeks and all resulted in admission to maternity hospital and had the steroid injections too. Was told to take a days bed rest each time. Placenta corrected itself by 36 weeks and Dd was born a week overdue!
She was a truly nightmare pg and labour but is here 18months
I am sure you will be monitored for being a twin pg, and extra for the bleed for a week or 2 but apparently its quite common. I was told its just one of those things they couldn't explain!
Hope you feel a bit better soon, try not to stress x

thanks for you quick response! Its the unexplained that gets you isn't it! As mothers we would prefer a reason then our minds wouldn't go into overload! I am laid in bed now and dont intent to move for a day or so!
Thanks for your response, problems are better shared - you quickly then realse you are not the only one out there! which you can quite easily do if you don't talk to others.xxx

Hi, I had a couple of bleeds, first at 12 weeks (already knew it was ID twins through IVF), just scanned and told everything ok, then another at 33 weeks, placenta previa had already been diagnosed so at least there was a reason, but worrying none the less. With the second bleed, I was kept in hospital for a few days and given the steroid injections, but as with you the bleeding tailed off and just continued reddish/brown (they said this was old bleeding and was ok!). Planned section at 37 weeks, and now 2 gorgeous 6 month old girls! I was told there wasn't anything I should or shouldn't do, but did just try to take things easy, no lifting, putting my feet up when I could etc! My SIL who also has twins, had alot of bleeding from about 30 weeks, and was told it was just normal with twins!! I'm sure you'll be monitored closely from here onwards, but if anything else happens that you're not sure about speak to someone as soon as you can!

Hi, sorry its a late post and I hope everything is still OK. I had bleeding twice with my twins, once early on before we knew it was twins, we went in for a scan worrying we were losing one and came out in shock knowing it was twins. I then had a second bleed about 8 / 9 weeks in, there was a lot of red blood and I thought we were losing them. The bleeding stopped and we had a scan a couple of days later - although I was "told off" for not letting the midwife know about it before then. I now have lovely 20 month old twins. I know you will worry whatever anyone one says, I did, but hang on in there and keep in touch with the midwife if you are worried.

Gumbo611, how is the bleeding now? Sounds like all is fine if they sent you home but just wanted to pop in and say if at anytime you are the tinsiest bit worried about anything get checked out, it's better to make a nuisance of yourself be reassured than sit at home worrying, even if you're there every few days. I had really poor movement in t2 for the last 3 months of pg and was made to feel really bad by the day assessment team for going to check three times in a month until my consultant told me to ignore them and put myself and my babies before anything else and be up there everyday if I had to - sure you wont and that was a long rambling message! Sorry! Hope everything is ok now x

Hi all,

just wanted to respond really incase any one else was reading and looking for advice and this post came up. Thanks to every one who posted advice, I really appreciate it, I felt terrible back then and your words made me feel better. I am sat here now, 7 weeks on, on another Saturday night and I am 34 weeks tomorrow with no further problems, feel like I have made it now!!! Bleeding doesn't automatically mean something bad, and I think someone was trying to tell me to slow down!!! Slow down, I can just about make it round the supermarket now!!! knackered and ready - then the fun is to start. My advice is , if you are reading, is the same as BB3 - ring and get it checked, ask questions and worry about just yourself and the babies, don't worry about making a nuisance of yourself!! Thanks everyone.x
