Hi all I am thinking of getting a
Mother's helper and was wondering- if anyone has one how much they pay them, how often
They come and what they get them to do? I have DD1 2 yr and DTs 8 wk old and am struggling! I live in S London.

Hi. I have a mothers help. I pay £9 per hour (sw london). She comes 3 afternoons a week and helps me with the afternoon feed, does washing and ironing (ours as well as babies), does some cooking (meals for the freezer), helps me with bed and bathtime (DH never home from work till 730/8pm), tidies the toys away and washes/sterilises/prepares bottles. She also keeps an eye on the twins while I go and have a shower/lie down if I want to. I found her on gumtree and she is a star! I am hoping to keep her as a nanny when I go back to work part time in a few months.

I don't have any older children, just the twins (17wo) and that is hard work on its own so respect to anyone with a toddler as well, don't know how you have managed on your own!

Thanks Ceeveebee. I have had my mum around but that's about to change which is why I realise it would be a huge help to have an extra pair of hands a few hours a week. Particularly in the afternoon when we are all a bit turned Grin!
Gd luck with it all x
