Easily collapsible twin prams

whatatip · 20/07/2011 14:44

I would like to compile a list of all the easily collapsible (no bits to take off, do in one movement more or less) twin prams. Either side by side or one in front, not necessarily that comfy for the dts, but easy for me.

I want a quickie for in the car and taking on holiday. They are 18 months.

Obviously there is the Maclaren. But what else?

Thanks

Jane PowerTwin (three-wheeler)! Love it. Collapsible in seconds and small when collapsed.

Really? I'm surprised, thanks i'll check it out.

Baby Jogger City Mini has to be the ultimate in that respect.

Thank you jojay and laloose. I have researched both of those and am quite excited (!) that there are decent prams that collapse easily. I have been in iCandy hell for the last 18 months and I fantasise of packing the boot of the car up in a few seconds.

What about the Out n About nipper for folding and how much space it takes up in the car/

Second the baby jogger, I've had a lot of buggies and it's the best for folding ever.

Silver cross pop duo. Very easy umbrella fold, not too bulky for storing and quite light. My dts are 19months and nap well in it so must be fairly comfy!

Dont' have twin bjcm, just the single, but the twin is the same. I don't drive, have to get bus, and it's idea for that as you can collapse it with one hand whilst holding baby and remaining upright on moving bus Grin

Don't take my word for it, even Mark on peepshow agrees.

Baby jogger mini or elite every time- no contest

Agree with majority here. I have got the BJ City mini double as well and its great. My twins are 8 weeks old and I had a huge second hand Emalljunga double pram which we had to keep in the garage as we couldn't even get it in the house!! The BJ is really light and easy to collapse as you just pull the middle and it's in half. Check out Amazon.

Thanks everybody.
I am watching a few BJCMDs on ebay, ready to buy when one comes up.
The Out n About nippers go for slightly less, maybe because they have been around for longer.

I think the BJ City mini doubles are newer so will take longer to get a lot of them into the second hand market. £200 ish is what they are selling for second hand....I hadn't intended on spending that much but it does appeal for many reasons.

Hi, I'm new to this but was hoping for some advice, I am mum to 16 month old twins and am going to buy a new pram but cant decide between a phil and teds classic side by side or a baby jogger city mini twin I dont drive so have to be able to get it on the bus and have been through a few prams so this has to be the last any advice much appreciated.

thanks

I am another baby jogger city mini fan. (wish they had a snappier name). dont consider anything else.

I am due a singleton in jan and intend to flog my baby jogger twin, and then by exactly the same in the single version. i wouldnt consider anything else.

The quick collapse mechanism alone is worth the money.

the bj is fab for folding (I'm sure you've realised that from everyone else). I love my Nipper for ease to push, comfort etc and it folds easily too.

I had an iCandy for dd1 and loved it so on finding out we were having twins I wanted an icandy, but then realised that assembling it each time would be a nightmare so tried loads out. The Nipper won us over and 3 weeks in I love it. The reason we chose it over the bj was for comfort and the nipper is slightly narrower and with a wheel removed even fits though our internal doors.

Another big thumbs up for the BJCM and it's also quite tidy when folded - infact most Baby Joggers are the same.

The Nipper 360 double is nowhere near as quick, but with a bit of practice it's packed up and in the boot in no time.
