Boo! I'm not stalking you, but just wondering if I know you? Someone at under 1's had twin girls and an older daughter. Have you always lived in Corfe Mullen?

MarsLady · 17/11/2005 23:32

catj · 17/11/2005 23:45

Lived round here virtually all my life! Where did you go to under ones?

surfermum · 17/11/2005 23:48

I went to Hillbourne and then when the centre closed we moved to Merley.

catj · 17/11/2005 23:51

Ooh scary!! So did I!! Give us a clue who you are!

surfermum · 17/11/2005 23:52

Do you ride horses?

catj · 17/11/2005 23:53

Yes!

surfermum · 17/11/2005 23:57

Tee hee . I know who you are! And your gorgeous girls. How spooky.

I've got a dd (won't say her name on here). She was the one who slept, ate, didn't cry, was generally no bother and I used to worry that people would think I was smug! We used to chat about going back to work or not and getting all the tax credits we were due. I've got short hair, big boobs, might have mentioned I'm a lifeguard.

catj · 18/11/2005 00:01

Ha! I think I might know who you are. Can't remember your name(sorry-blame it on the pg!) but does your dd's name start with the same letter as one of mine?

surfermum · 18/11/2005 00:07

Yes!

I've been on mumsnet for about a year now. Found it when I was looking for ideas for halloween and got hooked. It's great but be warned - very addictive.

I'm off to bed now - couldn't leave without finding out if it was you! - look forward to chatting again and look forward to seeing you at the meet up. The others are lovely and not hairy @rsed truckers in case you were worried.

Night night.

Hiya

I have ds1 @ 4 and my boy twins will be 2 in January still bizarlly get lonely amidst all the busyness

Kelly1978 · 22/11/2005 11:02

Hi there, I have non-id boys nearly 8 mnths. Plus dd (5) and ds (3). Think you are very brave to go for a fourth after dts!

jambuttie - I know the feeling. I've recently moved and I get very lonely atm. Need adult company as well as a houseful of kids!

jambuttie · 22/11/2005 14:21

couldn't agree more kelly.

It's like oh i will be there but until you have twins of your own you never truly understand.

God why do I feel so stupid now

Wouldn't change them for the world just need some adult company from time to time other than work that is

Kelly1978 · 22/11/2005 16:09

I don't have anyone nearby at all, and I don't work. You def right about not understanding twins tho. All those ppl who say they would love twins don't have a clue!!

Kanda · 22/11/2005 16:26

Hi Catj. I went for no 4 after a DD (10) and DTs (almost 8) and have not regretted it for a second. Mind you, the relief at the scan to see just the one heatbeat! And Kelly, I understand about being isolated. I live miles and miles from my mum and most of my friends and it's been very very hard, esp with new DS. And you're so right about the twin thing - everyone who doesn't have them thinks they're the expert! Grrrrr......

catj · 22/11/2005 21:00

Have to confess that no4 wasn't exactly planned!! As dh says we had a hiccup in the family planning dept{grin]. Well it was his birthday . I hadn't made my mind up either way so the decision was made for us. I'm lucky that both our families live nearby & I go to a twins club nearby too. I also have horses so from time to time I can get adult company and talk about things other than children!

OP posts:
Kelly1978 · 23/11/2005 10:05

Oh I know about those hiccups. The dts were a hiccup. I read soemwhere that lots of twins are unplanned as they are generally born to mothers who are more fertile than most. I guess that would go for siblings of multiples too, if it's true.

I'm jea;ous of catj, horses, families nd twins club! I'm looking into a twins club but not much chance of the other two.

Kanda · 23/11/2005 11:10

Yeah I'm jelous of you too Catj, had a wonderful twins club where I lived before, and access to horses. Now anything like that is over 40 miles away. Poor little me . Still, you'll have to lead a fab social life and we'll pretend we're doing it too!!!

catj · 23/11/2005 13:30

My dts were planned (well we had planned to have a baby) but I am glad it turned out this way because of the 8 year age gap. I was worried that the little one be trying to keep up with big sis & she wouldn't want to know. Have to say she is very good with them.
I don't always admit to having the horses (well 3 ponies!) as people tend to think I'm totally barking as if I haven't got enough to do. One does belong to dd1 though.

throckenholt · 23/11/2005 14:03

just wanted to say hi. I have id twin boys - will be 3 in January, and another ds who is 18 months older.

Kelly1978 · 23/11/2005 16:09

hello throckenholt, not 'seen' you for ages. How are you?

Kanda · 23/11/2005 16:48

Hi throckenholt, identicals eh? I was always frantic I wouldn't know the diff (how stupid!!) but mine are one of each so no propblems there. Do you dress them alike but in diff colours or completely the same or totally diff? I like to know this as I used to dress mine alike a) coz it was easy and b) coz a mate with twins said it was easy to hold one up if you lost one (God forbid) and show people what to look for.

throckenholt · 24/11/2005 07:42

Hi Kelly - I'm fine - don't post much - don't get time at the moment (only at work !).

Kanda - never had a problem telling ours apart - one is smaller than the other. And as far as clothes go - they get whatever is on top of the pile that fits them - ocassionally that means they wear similar clothes but not often. Also one has a penchant for changing clothes - he disappears upstairs for a while and then reappears in a complete new outfit - usually of things I had squirreled away because they are too big or two small or for the wrong season . And when I go up I find a trail of discarded rejected choices!
