Did you use a breast pump? Which one?

I had a manual one and didn't get on with it so am thinking about a battery one but they're so expensive I don't want to buy the wrong one. Would love to know what other twin mummies used and found best.

I used the smallest Medela one.(mini medela?) I found it noisy but I got over that tbh.

I did find though, that with DS I could express loads but just could never get anything worth having with DD - could never express more than a couple of ounces and that would take ages.

have just had a total moron moment, realising this is in multiples! JUst saw it in active convos!

Have no twins (sap)

Doesn't really matter if you had twins or not - breast pumps do the same job. I just think it may be more important to me with twins so dh can help with feeds.

I rented a medela double pump for a month. They are very good.

I rented a Medela Symphony Double Electric breast pump for a few months. The company I used doesn't seem to di it anymore so I just googled it and found this company

It also depends where you are because I know some branches of the NCT do it and if you know where you're going to give birth, some hospitals also have them to borrow / hire. It might be worth asking your midwife.

The only advice I would give is that in the early days (in my case I was expressing because my babies were in Special Care) when you need to get your supply established and it could take a while that an electric pump is easy, as is a double pump.

After 2 or 3 months, I switched to an ordinary Avent hand / manual pump (single) and found that to be very quick and efficient.

Good luck.

I rented at first (was in the US) then bought a Madela pump-in-style (when we moved to the UK), the pump-in-style was nearly as good as the "hospital grade" one I rented. I was exclusively pumping though so it ended up being important to me.

I don't know that it's that important if you can establish breast feeding. It might make sense to wait until you know how the feeding's going and get a pump that meets your needs then.

I've bought a Spectra 3 home/hospital use one off eBay (Anawiz) for £50, you can double express from it too if you buy an extra tube and bottle thing.
It's quiet and works well for me, i think they have newer/better ones now though...

Personally I found it easier just to feeed them myself. I tandem fed mainly so feeding two didn't take any more effort than feeding one! (except I could eat a lot more!!) Once you're milk supply is established it's really easy, and personally i found expressing really NOT that easy. In fact a pain in the bum

I did have to do it when I went back to work thogugh :-(

I used a mini medela double pump that I bought from Amazon for about £60, I've done a quick search but couldn't find it for sale on there anymore.

Found one on ebay though here if you don't mind a 2nd hand one.

Mine was brilliant, as the girls were 6 weeks premature, they didn't have much of a suck reflex, I put them to the breast at each feed but they would take two sucks and fall asleep. I was advised to top up with formula whilst in hospital whilst waiting for my milk to come in, because they were both under 6lb. I used the hospital pump in hospital, and once I had enough milk I mixed feeded, after 2 weeks the girls were much more alert and I solely breast fed from that point on. I still expressed once a day so that DP could do a midnight feed (we were still on a 3 hour schedule from the hospital) and I could sleep.

I stopped expressing once a day when they were about 8 weeks old because it seemed easier just to bfeed them myself as I wasn't as tired etc. I really wish I'd persevered as they refused the bottle the next time it was offered (when I was getting my hair done for the first time in months) they are now nearly 7months and I'm still breastfeeding (2 very healthy smiley little girls Grin)
