My friend has triplet boys aged 5. Only 2 are identical. I'd like to understand them more.
I have two children v close in age who when out, people assume are twins because they look alike and they're so close - I realise that's where the twin-like bit ends though! I've learnt a lot from another close friend of many years who is a single mum to id twin girls: I've witnessed that multiples mean more than just doing everyting twice, or being woken up twice as often by babies/toddlers and so being twice as tired: I've witnessed how my friends girls can be ever so competitive with each other over everything, fight over mum's knee when little and for her attention now they're 8, how because one was praised by teachers for excelling at one skill the other turned her back on it, how when little they could be really vicious to each other as their intimacy meant toddler tantrums could really hurt the other one etc. Have to say they're great together now, such an asset for each other. Wouldn't have said the same pre-school though....
Any interesting thoughts on the development and behaviour of triplets? How do they compare usually with other kids the same age?
