Feeding cushions

Hi there,
My twins are due in 12 weeks time and I'm starting my shopping.

I breastfed my DS till he was a year so I know I want to give it a good go with these two and it looks like a tandem feeding cushion is the way forward.

There seem to be 2 on the market - the EZ-2 and the Harmony. Do any of you have any experience with either of these or recommendations?

Thanks,

Hi Snowfalls! I had the EZ-2 Nurse and I think the main problem with it is that it the babies tend to roll into the middle a little. The foam is very stiff and does slope into the middle so it makes it hard to balance everyone. When my babies were very small I was able to use a regular feeding cushion (not a twin one) to tandem feed but obviously they grow out of that pretty quickly.

On an American forum someone recommended the "My Brest Friend" twin nursing pillow. They said the foam was less stiff and therefore supported both babies much better. Apparently it was also much more comfortable to wear. The only supplier of My Brest Friend pillows that I could find in the UK was Express Yourself Mums and they don't have the twin pillow. However, I did e-mail them and they said they were looking to source more pillows in January and might have something available then, might be worth contacting them now.

Also, good luck! Hope everything goes well for the last 12 weeks and you have a safe and easy delivery!

Thanks alltheleaves - just spoke to them and they'll be coming in at the end of next week! Good timing.

Has anyone tried the Harmony?

Had the EZ-2-nurse and loved it. Haven't seen the other one in the flesh so not sure if it's as good.

I had the EZ inflatable one and found it really good, but had to send it back twice due to faulty valve. In the end they sent me a foam one and I never got on with it as well as the inflatable one and abandoned tandem feeding (for some other reasons as well as the lack of cushion). Whether you tandem feed or not, if you have not breastfed before you might find a single feeding cushion useful in the early days (it can easier to feed them separately to start with)- I had a Widgie and loved it.

Sorry, just read properly and realised that you have bf another baby already :)

I've got the inflatable EZ and think it's good, nothing to compare to, but it's much better than surrounding yourself with 10 cushions which is what I did in the beginning. Bloody expensive though for a blow up cushion Shock

I had the inflatable EZ nurse one, but to be honest I didn't get on with it that well. I found the back support good, but ended up just using 2 big pillows each side. Also I found with the EZ nurse one that when I picked up one baby to wind it, the other baby suddenly sunk down a bit, which wasn't very helpful! But other people have obviously got on ok so maybe it was just me :)
